Eliot read the response and said screw it. Trying to do any of this "for the group" crap was only getting him repeatedly shat on. He wasn't going to bother any more. He'd do the job assigned, take care of his friends, and if someone wanted his opinion on something they could ask. Otherwise, screw 'em.
