Savannah laughed. "I think I know. It was nice to have Tim here. I was born in Texas, too, but I moved to Memphis when I was in junior high. Mom made sure that my accent wasn't obvious although it doesn't take long for it to come out. Usually ten minutes with Tim and I have G looking at me like I've grown a second head."
She waved a hand. "Nonsense. As he'd say, no one else here speaks English. It's good to have someone who understands him," she said, giggling. "I can see that. I'm hoping that they came up with better cover stories for the rest of us. It's not like I'd have left school before national." She made a face. "It's been a year. It feels so strange, but yes I can see why Tim out of Texas is strange. Still if it makes you feel better, I've taken good care of him. Feed him, translated for him, I even taught him to use a cell." Or at least she'd make sure that he checked the important messages.
