RP: Mike and Robert Who: Mike Renko and Robert Callen Where: Mike's house When: November 19, 2011; very late night Summary: Mike doesn't show up for disco night
He really had been planning on going to the disco night, he might not be interested in playing at all of them, but it was just a nice break from the usual - even if it could get a bit silly at times. Mike just liked to see people taking the time to enjoy the little things while they still had the chance. It wasn't perfect and like he told Robert it didn't make up for all the shit they had to deal with, but sometimes you just needed to let loose a little steam or you would explode. And music theme nights were a better than shooting someone.
Of course, just because he planned to do something didn't always make it happen. He'd woken that morning with a pounding headache, though he took some medicine and went about his day as usual - it wasn't the first time he'd gone through a day with a migraine, and he'd been having headaches more and more often these days. He blamed it on being back in New York, on the insanity they were constantly dealing with, just about anything he could really, but they always passed and he could get back to work. This one was different, it was sharper, but he told himself it was just a migraine - nothing a little meds caffeine and darkness couldn't fix. Maybe everything was just a little too bright, and a little too loud, but that was to be expected given the state of his head and he ignored it. It would pass, like all things and he could get back to living his life and figuring things out.
Though in the end things didn't just pass, it got worse, the throbbing in his head increasing to sharp spikes shooting down his spine. He told Ross was going to lay down, he could let anyone know if he went to the Disco night otherwise he'd be up again in the morning, he could hardly bear hearing the reply before he was going to his room closing the door, the sound of it making his head ache, just the footsteps out side his room and the sound of the door closing as Ross left like a gong going off inside his head, and he couldn't stay on his feet. He didn't even make it to the bed before he passed out, hitting the floor hard.
