Re: Derek/Emily
"As long as that's the only thing that's easy." Emily joked, not wanting to think about how easy it was to get pregnant and how potentially bad that would be for her.
Emily pursed her lips and looked away. She didn't want to be having this conversation tonight. Or, ever, really. But, if wishes were wings, she supposed. "I'm good at it. That doesn't make it easy. And we can go round and around in this circle, but the plain facts are that I had no other choice. Everything I did before joining the BAU was highly classified to the point I couldn't be known to have been involved. So, what is it you're actually saying here, Derek? Because despite what you said, it sounds a lot like you can't trust me because of things I had no choice in."
Turning back, she just looked at him in relative silence for a long moment. "What's seriously wrong is we were left with two gaping holes where you and Garcia were supposed to be and no one can replace either of you. And you have to know I'd never willingly let you give your life for mine, Derek. The point was to prevent further loss of life. If anyone had died because Doyle was trying to get to me..."
Emily shook her head. Maybe she should have just stayed gone. At least then they wouldn't have to go around and around like this, pretending they could move on only to come back around to the same problem. "What I don't understand is why you're doing this, Derek. Why now? Why talk me through all of it before, encourage me to put it behind me, to move on, and then...this? Over a couple tattoos only the men I've let into my bed have ever seen?"
