Re: Troy/Nell
"Well, it is Berkley, I suppose. Come to think of it, the one person I can think of off the top of my head who is a Cal alum takes just about everything seriously. You might be on to something there." Nell chuckled, curious now how much Callen might have already known about Troy's career before they arrived here considering she knew Callen followed the school's football and basketball teams.
"As long as you enjoyed it, that's what matters, right? And you can still do both for fun. Sean's already got you into this gig and I know there's at least two three guys around here who'd probably be up for a pick-up game on the weekends. We used to have a hoop in the training room at home where the agents would play sometimes."
Nell laughed softly. "Much better idea than a public demonstration. That way you're the only one whose eardrums bleed and I won't have to hear the commentary from some of our more sarcasm-inclined colleagues. Now, if I'm allowed to computer-enhance the performance, then we're really in business." The comparison made her smile. "Something like that. I'm sure they'd prefer it that way, too. Adrenaline junkies, the lot of them, even if they don't admit it. Probably what makes them so good at what they do. I like knowing how to take care of myself, but there's something really rewarding in tracking down the information trails, especially when those trails have been well hidden. It's kind of a geek rush. We all do our parts to make the whole work. It's good that way."
"Oo, a challenge. I look forward to being surprised," she teased. "ESPN, not bad. A familiarity with the news casting business, no matter what subject, comes in handy in this spy game." She grinned. "Well, I look forward to having you as a student, then."
