Re: Troy/Nell
Troy shook his head. "Nah... I mean there are plenty of opportunities, but with basketball, you have most of the season shut, and everyone takes their theater a little too seriously around Berkeley. Actually they take just about everything too seriously except their sports."
He snorted. "I guess that's right. It was just me at home and mom didn't work, so it was basketball, basketball and more basketball. I didn't mine. I actually enjoyed it even if it took a little to convince my dad that I wanted to be in the school play, stretching myself too thin, and all of that."
This was one of the things he didn't get with women. Sometimes that said that they weren't good at something and expected you to say otherwise, and sometimes they really meant that you shouldn't press. Three years of college had not helped, so he picked a middle ground. "Or you can prove it to me in private one day and then I won't bother you in the future." Troy chuckled. "It sounds like you're the point guard and they are the shooting guard of the team."
He grinned. "I might just surprise you." He nodded. "I still play basketball, but I'm not good enough for the NBA, but I like news casting, sports of course. I've made connections while playing and I interned at EPSN." He nodded. "It sounds cool. I look forward to it."
