Entry tags:*complete, 2010 11, character: g callen, dead: michael westen

RP: G and Mikey
Who: G and Michael
Where: The Base
When: November 7th
Summary: Michael has a visitor.

The day had been uneventful. The cell he had spent the night in was a cell. He still didn't understand the Pompous Asshole's definition of "civil", and he really didn't care to. He responded just as anyone would when they are abducted. Then he had changed his tone and answered the Pompous Asshole's question, granted he had done so in a brutally honest way that obscured his prior affiliation with the United States government. The Pompous Asshole had to be absolutely mental to think that someone who didn't already know the Pompous Asshole would just roll over and kiss the Director's feet when the only evidence that someone had was finding himself in an unusual house, finding out he was a Congressman, and then being abducted.

"Oh well," all things considered, he had been in considerably worse situations. Still his thoughts turned to Sam and Fi, hoping they'd be able to rescue Sarah, take care of Barrett, neutralize Vaughn, and convince Jesse that they are on his side. He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's open," he called when the knock came.

It had been just over a week and G was already feeling the itch to move, just as Director Vance had forbidden. When it had been just he and Sam in this part of the hotel, he'd managed to keep the urge under control. But as more people arrived, people with backgrounds he didn't know, unknown powers that could manifest at any time, and agendas that could be anything, he got itchy in a way he hadn't since Hetty had arranged for him to buy a house.

Was that house even there in this world? Nothing else he knew was.

Only Sam, Hetty, and Director Vance.

But, instead of looking for a new room, he was walking down the corridor on one of Hetty's errands. After four years, G knew when he was being sent on one of those 'for your own good' tasks, the ones Hetty created when she thought they needed something on a personal level. Like buying a house.

Raising an eyebrow, he pushed the door open when an answer to his knock came. Clearly this Westen was either all too trusting or all too cocky to just leave a door unlocked like that. "History book delivery. Hetty didn't want you to have to wait and I've finished with this batch."

Michael nodded to the man when he walked in. He hadn't care to lock the door, why lock the door when the people holding you hear could get in anyway? No, if Mike was really worried he would've barricaded the door. But as he saw it he was as good as dead if they wanted him dead so there was no matter inconveniencing himself.

Of course, it was telling that the man neither said hello nor offered to shake his head.

"Thank you," he took the books and offered his hand to G. "I'm Michael. But I'd imagine you knew that already."

He skimmed the titles. "Anything I should know before I start?"

G relinquished the stack of books easily with a nod, not hesitating to take the offered hand briefly. "No problem. Name's Callen." He smirked. "And yes, I did."

He made it a point to know what he could about the people coming in, just as he would have at home, learning what he could about the agents and support staff who worked with him. Sometimes Hetty answered his questions. Sometimes he had to find other ways.

Now that he thought about it, sometimes he was sent on curious errands that seemed unnecessary at the time.

"Start with the colonial era. Don't skip things and get used to asking yourself if you're really insane and strapped into a hug-me jacket hallucinating all of this."

Mike smiled at the man, no sense in not being kind since he was stuck with them.

He glanced at the titles again. "That shouldn't be too hard. Just another cover story, albeit more elaborate than the usual ones."

"So, Callen, what did you do in our home reality?" Well, he had assumed there was only one home reality. He figured this was as good a way as any to start figuring that out. Of course, he wasn't sure what was true right now. This could just be one of Management's highly elaborate ruses.

G smirked. Elaborate wasn't generally a word he associated with a cover. Thorough. That was his preferred word. He knew each of his personalities down to their first words, favourite neck ties, and least favourite television programs. But, he didn't consider this a cover. This was the legwork that came before the cover. "More unusual, maybe."

Leaning against the doorframe, G crossed his arms and shrugged one shoulder casually. "Bit of everything. What I was told to do. What I had to do. Sometimes both. Always classified.

"You came through on your own, right?" Besides he and Sam, he knew the FBI team that came in before this guy had come through together. G wondered if it happened because they just happened to be together, or if there was something more to it. After all, if an interdimensional portal and superhero powers right out of a Marvel comic could exist, who was to say some sort of selection process wasn't also?

Man, Eric would love this. Abby would, too, he imagined.

Mike dwelled on the word unusual for awhile. Was it telling? He didn't know. He had gone from one identity to the next for twenty years. This wasn't just more unusual. It was unique.

"Detailed," he smirked in response to G's description of what he did. Not that he would've volunteered to a stranger that he was a burnt spy. He wasn't sure if he was bothered that G didn't offer something more specific. Hell, he could've described his favorite bridge move. Oh well.

"As far as I know, I was the only one in my loft when I the ..." what did you call it? "light appeared. Of course, I lived next to a club and it was late at night. So for all I know, 300 other people could've come through."

He yawned. "Where can someone get a cup of yogurt around here?" Oh god, he hoped they had yogurt in this reality.

"When it matters." G shrugged, not in the least bit apologetic. His own team barely knew a quarter of his stories, Sam and Hetty maybe more than most. "But, really, what I did there? Doesn't matter much here."

Not with most people, anyway.

Chuckling, G nodded. "Nah, all three hundred would have had to move with you. Probably ought to just say 'the rift opened'," he added, grinning. "The light appearing sounds like you're getting taken up to heaven...or by aliens."

Yogurt? Really? G couldn't remember the last time he'd voluntarily eaten the stuff and he was from health-conscious-overload Los Angeles. "Commissary should. I can show you the way if you haven't been over there yet."
