"He's a good man, and he knows what he's doing. He's also been a SEAL since he was a kid. He's not going to change us," he pointed out.
Derek looked at Eliot for a moment. "It doesn't matter that you know how to do it, though. It's not just about those skills. It's about becoming one team, and you might have had more experience than anyone else, you might have survived without us, but the training helped you whether you admit it or not," he said with a smile. "You'd never would have thrown this party months ago, you wouldn't have cared if someone died, and you wouldn't have a doctor that cares past her job or a cheerleader that holds your hand. Maybe the training isn't perfect, but it does what we've wanted from the start: it makes us one." He chuckled. "I know, probably not what you've been doing all of your life, but it grows on you."
