Re: Savannah/G
G gave her a tight smile. "Something like that." Savannah had come a long way from the girl he'd met eleven months earlier. Then, he'd despaired of ever making her understand why they did things. Now, a part of him wished she didn't.
"I'm heartbroken, really." New York was fine to visit. But, even under these circumstances, G wouldn't be sorry to put it on the other side of the Rockies from him. "I do know those things," he assured her, huffing softly at the thought. The places that were most suited to hiding were also the places least likely to condone the sort of mixing they had in this group. Hell, there were still places out west where black people, gay people, or 'foreigners' of any sort were escorted through town at rifle point and invited never to return. "And we may have to pretend even more that things aren't what they are. When we find a way to scout locations, I may have to take Deeks and Robert with me instead of Sam or Morgan. We may have to pretend that I'm in charge when I'm really communicating with Vance and Hetty and Morgan. We'll fit the story to the place and hope people here can learn it. There really isn't going to be much other choice when we have to run."
