John rolled his eyes, leaning his head back against Kinney's shoulder to look up at him with a tiny smile. "Hey we can convince John to join us?" he repeated, more calmly and indulgently than G was sure he could have mustered in the kid's place. Clearly that young man was very much at ease dealing with Kinney's brand of attitude. "Mm, no. Try again. Actually, don't try again. Just let it go."
G shook his head. "You're not my type, anyway."
That at least drew an amused smirk from John as the kid turned his attention back to G.
"I guess you slept through the part where as little evidence as is necessary is volunteered by agents during an interrogation," G replied.
But before he could continue, there was a sigh from John and a mutter that G thought might have been the word 'incorrigible'. G was fairly sure both of them were imagining Vance's expression if they were to really participate in the suggested threesome -- G was very carefully not looking at Sam this entire time for fear what he saw in his partner's expression would affect his ability to stay calm -- and he knew he had no desire to inflict that horror on his superior. Then, he heard John speak softly. "Brian..."
G wasn't sure if the kid was asking Kinney to tell them or asking how he himself should proceed with this -- G was certain John knew what the man's power was, though he was loathe to press that point just yet. Raising an eyebrow, he didn't press but waited to see where this was going.
