"I'll take what time we can get," G told him. "It'll give him more time to be comfortable with what he can do." They couldn't hide Deeks' powers forever. It was asking too much of Fate for that. But, the longer they had, the better able the man would be able to use it. They'd been hiding up until this point under total secrecy. Now it was time to hide in plain sight. comparisons to Professor X and Jean Grey were to be avoided at all costs.
"Emotions." He repeated the word thoughtfully, considering the possibilities and the angles. They wouldn't totally be able to train Deeks' ability to use the power offensively if they passed him off as an empath. But, he'd get the practice he needed getting into multiple targets and he could continue training privately with G and Morgan on the more 'extensive' aspects of the power. Slowly, G nodded. "That will work." Building the trust was unlikely to help in this case, he thought. Even the most trusting person would balk at the idea of someone who was able to read their mind or control their actions.
G snorted. "And here I thought you were the one to empathize with him." He'd made a promise he intended to keep, for one thing. For another, he suspected Sam would find a way to deny physics even further and return to his full self to kill Kinney if G did. "Wouldn't be the first time I got naked for the job. But, no, not going to happen. Unfortunately, the only thing I know for certain he cares about is John and I'm not willing to use that particular leverage more than necessary. We may have to wing it."
