Derek wasn't surprised in the least. There was something about Deeks' mind that was different from the other minds he encountered in the astral plane. "All right, let's make it not extensive then. Not lying per se, but we can curb what he can do, especially because if we get more people with mental powers, then they will know. I sensed him immediately. He's like a beacon, G. It's only a matter of time that someone else stumbles on it. Let's find something that connects it to minds, but not as invasive as say… Professor X," he said, using the best metaphor he knew to discuss this without actually talking about it.
"How about emotions? He can pick up emotions. Mentally, in this astral plane, and can I say that I'm really glad that I read Marvel, because I wouldn't know how else to explain what this thing is like." Derek sighed. "I know that it's not the perfect choice, but this is why we need to talk about the powers and train together. We all need to build that trust."
Derek rubbed his neck. "Tim is not going to like it, but he'll talk. He sees himself as a freak. It's more an identity issue than a trust issue with him. Brian… I have no idea how we push him into telling us, unless you really want to get naked. That might do the trick," he said with a tiny smiled.
