It was more than apparent this was something Savannah wanted, though Marty had known that before they got married. Marrying Savannah meant a family, and it meant children, he'd just got it in his head that it also meant waiting too. Of course he really should have known better. "Hey, we don't know if it's going to be worse if we have to run. And we don't know how long we're going to be here." Marty reminded her gently.
"I don't doubt that our child will have a loving family, that has never been a question in my mind." He promised Savannah, that wasn't the issue here, the issue was rushing into starting a family because they were scared and that wasn't something Marty wanted to do, no matter the outcome.
He clutched his chest when Savannah started mentioning their ages, especially in relation to any child they might have, "God, don't make me sound so old." He chuckled. "Forty is not too old to have a child starting college," Never mind that if they were still on the run at that point, college was going to be a moot point. "And me," Marty shrugged. "Fifty-two isn't that bad, there are plenty of cool dads a lot older than that. We have time." He assured her.
"I don't want to rush into this because we're scared, because you think it might not happen if we don't do it now. There's nothing to say we're still going to be on this base in nine months, that even if you get pregnant now we'll have access to the hospital and anything else here." In fact Marty would bet against it all things considered, the group was already so large as it was. "I want a family with you, I'm not debating that. I just want to do it right."
