Harvey was right of course, Mike wanted to have a job when they got back but he'd known from the start that he wouldn't - he did think Harvey might though. Harvey was the best closer in the city after all, he found it hard to believe Jessica wouldn't want him back. "Yeah, maybe." Mike said instead because he didn't need to ruin this with his own self doubts.
It was enough that Harvey thought he could do it, whether or not it was the truth was unimportant. "I guess we'll just have to wait for when we get back to see how it goes." Mike said, he didn't like making plans for something that might never come, preferring to live here with the time they had rather than constantly thinking about what they would go home to.
Mike raised an eyebrow at the second swat and the look Harvey gave him. Though he did stop himself from insisting yet again that Harvey was wrong, it didn't matter and there were actually times that Mike did listen to Harvey.
He really could stay there for the rest of the night, pressed up against Harvey's side. He was comfortable there. "Maybe you could do it without the use of eyelashes." Mike suggested, groaning inwardly at just how stupid that was, he had no right to be jealous.
