It sometimes struck him when he was waking up next to Mike, or holding him just how close they'd got. Maybe it had crept up on him because of how easy it was, how natural it was to be touching. They'd always touched too much, casual at first but escalating when they'd arrived here to now when it was perfectly normal to have Mike in his lap, to kiss him.
They were dependent on each other and maybe Harvey had lost sight of the fact it was mutual but the way Mike clung to him now was a pretty good reminder. He had a use and he was good for something, even if it was only this.
It was worse than he's imagined it would be, Mike stopped looking at him and Harvey felt like a jerk. Because yeah he was free to do what he liked, who he liked and what they had wasn't even romantic but it was obvious it could be, that it might have been. "Yeah, I have," Harvey confirmed again, glancing in the direction of Renko's room. It didn't sound great or good and he knew that Mike wasn't glad, his next words only confirmed that more.
He squeezed Mike's waist gently, dropping his head down to the side to try to catch Mike's eyes. "It doesn't mean anything," he said quietly. "Stress relief, a distraction," Harvey explained. "I could stop."
