"Spiral out of control, apparently," Harvey said. "I really don't have anything to offer anyone and it would be easier for you not to be associated with me when I can't seem to stop making enemies," he said simply.
It was a stupid old movie, but he'd never been as good with words, at least this way he could say what he meant and not screw it up. It was true for them and Harvey wouldn't have said it if he didn't feel that way.
Mike kissed him and he felt like maybe he'd been wrong, that Mike did want him and he was just as bad at showing it as he was. It was gentle and bittersweet and he wondered if all of their kisses would be like that, mouths pressed together in their darkest moments, like it was the only way they could really share secrets. "I'm selfish, but I wouldn't leave you," he said quietly, like a promise before he kissed him again.
He wasn't going to compare kissing the two Mikes, it was a totally different but he still knew he'd have to come clean about it soon or regret it later. People talked and he just knew that Mike wouldn't want to hear it from someone else.
"I'm here," he whispered into his mouth, because Mike needed to hear that just as much as he did and he wanted to put off the confession for a bit longer.
