Mike was a physical kind of person, he liked touch. He liked being touched and he liked touching people, it was how he related to the people he was close to, showed affection and other emotions, and it helped to calm him when his emotions started getting carried away with him. The way they were then.
So he held on to Harvey, needed to touch him and be touched by him to keep himself from falling apart.
"I've been busy so you're going to what?" Mike asked shaking his head. "You're going to just cut me out of your life because I'm trying to fit in here and I'm trying to do all the things they're giving me?" There was time Mike could still see Harvey, but they'd both been busy, there had been things that Mike let take up his free time just like there were things that Harvey filled his time with as well.
Mike breathed out in a rush when Harvey pressed Mike's hand over his heart, Mike closed his eyes and nodded recalling the familiar words. Only this time there wasn't a kiss. This time though Mike heard the words, he listened to them rather than what came next in the sequence and thought maybe he'd missed it the first time around.
It was Mike who started the kiss this time, lifting his face when Harvey pulled at his hair and pressing their lips together, lightly and carefully, but the intent there all the same. "I'm here," He said when he pulled back, forehead pressed against Harvey's. "I'm here and I'm not going anywhere, you're not getting rid of me so easy."
