"We can't all be built as intimidating as you. Average is more versatile in my line of work than killer teddy bear," G retorted with another smirk.
"But all SEALs are built as intimidating as me. Tough and mean works better in my line of work," he answered, grinning.
"I can do that." He hated this, but he wasn't going to let these powers beat him. "I have a whole day to train, right?" he answered, trying to smile, even if the thought of spending the day trying to open a door was as depressing as staying here and not do anything. "No, I can't feel anything. No heat, no breeze, nothing at all. It's like I'm here, but I'm not." He took a deep breath. "Okay, then we need to fix that computer sooner rather than later, and I can start doing research. There's no sense n waiting for you after work when you have to take over my work as well. I'll even do that paperwork that you want me to do without complaining. If it gives us more time together, then I'll do paperwork."
Sam shook his head. "I can't G. I can't tell him and not Jenna. I've done a lot of questionable things when it comes to my children, and whether I was right or wrong, we'll never know, but I've never treated them differently, and I can't tell him what's going on without telling her. Just give me another day or two, and then… we'll talk to both of them, and you should tell Morgan what's going on. Like it or not, my situation impacts everyone in this team. Everyone expects me to the in charge of security, but I can't do what I used to, until we do find a way for me to do it, people will have to know."
His eyes shifted from their hands to G's eyes. He wasn't sure how a look could make him feel so much. Hope, longing, love, regret, determination, and a lot more all building up inside him and getting stuck in his throat and for the shortest moment, he was glad that he wasn't corporeal, because red eyes would have destroyed his reputation. "No matter what," he repeated, knowing that it wasn't fair to ask that from G, and someday in the future, he might tell G that, but not just yet. "I love you, too."
