RP: G and Sam Who: G Callen and Sam Hanna Where: Their room When: Tuesday, September 20, 2011 -- after work Summary: Still no change and some decisions need to be made.
To say it had been a difficult couple of days would be an understatement. Not that G was letting on at all. Morgan was getting their new arrival settled. Another profiler, G wasn't sure if his head could take another one of them. But, the short conversation he'd had with her Monday morning hadn't sent up any alarms. So, it was a worry for another time and G could focus his energy on his partner.
So far as G could tell, there'd been no change since Sunday. Sam was still incorporeal. They'd told most people he was ill and G was covering the training sessions until he was on his feet. A very select few, like their kids, were told Sam's power had manifested and he needed to take time to gain control of it before he was around others. But, how long they could keep up either ruse was anyone's guess. If Sam's condition didn't show signs of changing soon, they'd have to come up with something else.
And, still, none of that mattered as much to G as Sam's mental well being. That was the only reason G was holding together himself after two nights had proven just how far they'd come since January and how empty the lack of human touch left him. He wouldn't let this turn into something about him, however. Sam needed to be the one leaning on him this time and G wasn't about to let him down after all the time G spent leaning on Sam over the last year.
G had never kept strict office hours in the entire time since they'd arrived, always staying later than everyone else and coming in earlier. But, the last two days, he left as soon as he was able and went home to spend the night with Sam in whatever way his partner needed him. This night, he spent a few minutes talking to Sean in the kitchen where the young man was putting together a simple dinner before he went over to John's to finalize some plan for a custom guitar case the two had been working on for weeks now. Leaving Sean to the kitchen, G went in to find Sam in their room.
"Honey," he called, smirking, as he let himself in the room. "I'm home. Miss me?" Was it wrong that a part of him wished Sam could smack him for the teasing?
