Eliot switched his coffee cup to his other hand, set his right hand on the counter, and slid it along the surface until the found the plate. Turning, he set the coffee cup down, touching his fist to the counter surface first. The plate and mug blended in with the counter, disappearing from sight. He could see the pots and pans in the cabinets below.
"I haven't spoken much to anyone, other than you, Parker, and Eric, not counting the wedding." Eliot found the sandwich and picked it up. Taking a bite, he gave thought to what April said. She was not saying something, too, by her pregnant pauses.
"Come with me to meet with Hanna," he said. "You're my doctor, you should have a say." He took another bite before adding with a smirk in his tone, "And I won't have to rely on your boyfriend for a ride."
