Re: Spencer and Mike
"Yeah it is." Mike grinned, in fact it was the sort of party trick that had won him more than a little spending money in the past, and a new computer recently - not that it was doing him much good. It had probably been taking back to Cylon headquarters if Benjamin had anything to do with it. Reid was kind of amazing, finishing school early, getting into college using those gifts he had for his own benefit. The way Mike might have done if things had been different for him. "Yeah, it's been pretty helpful in my career."
He couldn't help but grin though when Reid asked him for a demonstration, he'd never been able to do this with someone who wouldn't need the book in front of them to check if he was right. "When Dorothy awoke the sun was shining through the trees and Toto had long been out chasing birds around him and squirrels. She sat up and looked around her. Scarecrow, still standing patiently in his corner, waiting for her." He repeated the words easily, calling them to the forefront of his mind. It had been a book he'd read years ago when he was younger and burned through every single book he'd owned and then nearly every book in children's section at the public library before heading to the adult section. "I could keep going." He offered with a grin.
Mike nodded, and talking about the research was just one way to see more of what Reid thought about things, get his opinion about it and figure out just how much they knew or didn't know beyond what he was given in print.
Mike opened his mouth and shut it again when Reid asked which of them had been kissed upon meeting Brian. His immediate instinct was to deny it all together, but that was clearly not going to work, given that Reid seemed to know Brian wasn't exactly shy. "Neither of us that first night, actually." At least not where Mike could see. "So he kissed you, then?" He asked.
"Yeah it's hard to adjust, especially when the room around you is your office one minute and then you're in file storage the next." Mike shrugged, he didn't really blame Harvey for suggesting that maybe he'd been drugged, though Mike still thought his food poisoning theory had been more likely than Harvey's. "Still I think he's over it now."
