Re: Spencer and Mike
"I like it sometimes, it's nice to just be able to turn it all off." Sometimes there was just too much going on in his head, too many new things, too many old things and all of it just sort of swirling around and making a mess of his thoughts. There were times it was just nice to stop it, even for just a short time. "Oh come on, don't go easy on me, at least not the first time I want to see how good you really are. If you are as good as you seem to think you are then after you obliterate me the first time you can go easy on me." Mike wasn't sure how they would compare but he was interested in finding out.
"Great, thanks. I really appreciate that." He wasn't sure just how much information he'd be able to get, but whatever he could about what had been done to get them there or what was being done to get them home was something he was interested in knowing.
Reid didn't look convinced, but Mike wasn't about to start insisting. Not at the moment, not when Reid was so obviously giving him the chance to move past it.
Mike nodded, he thought about what that would be like, the person who was left behind when your friends had been taken. He thought about Jenny and Rachel, even Trevor. Left at home and wondered what sort of explanation they would have gotten about where he went. It wasn't like he was some sort of agent who just went on top secret assignments, would he just have disappeared to them? Gone without a warning or trace? He wasn't exactly a pleasant thought. "It would be nice to see people again if you'd thought you weren't going to get to."
