“That’s because being fair is subjective. What you think is fair is totally different to someone else’s idea of fair,” Spencer said, returning the smile. “Being right is endlessly satisfying, even if you’re the only person who knows it.”
He liked Mike, he could almost imagine that is what he’d be like if he was considerably better looking and lacking all the social issues that he knew he battled with. “Everyone is very, very sick of mine. Except Parker, maybe that’s why I like her so much, a captive audience,” Spencer said with a laugh, knowing that his fondness for her was so much more than that. “Well look, clearly can’t impress you,” Spencer said with a laugh. “Maybe we should play; if we’re both cheating it might almost be a fair game.”
Spencer nodded, placing the card down on the table, leaning back a little bit to look across at him. “And point there,” he agreed, thinking of Henry and JJ and how much he missed seeing them or at least talking to them on the phone.
“I didn’t think it was,” Reid said simply, happy to let the subject go. “But like I said, I’m easy to talk to.”
