It was unfortunate that when Spencer was trying to tell a joke, most people didn’t get it, but when he was being serious people laughed. Maybe he was most humorous unintentionally. “I’m very easy to talk to,” Reid said with a little shrug. He’d actually made more friends here than he’d ever really made before, he was excited about finding a way home but he knew it would be sad to leave the people behind that he’d become close to, like Parker.
Crossing his legs in his chair Spencer continued to fiddle with the cards, but down in his lap where they wouldn’t be distracting.
“Homesick?” Spencer guessed, knowing it was true for a lot of them, some more than others, but no one was totally at ease in this place. “Or feeling like now you don’t have a home at all?” He added, looking down at him hands, knowing it could be easier for people to open up without being confronted by direct eye contact.
