Welcome to Olympus RP! Before we get to the fun stuff, we need to get a few rules out of the way. Whether you read these closely or not is, of course, your choice, but submission of your application assumes tacit approval and you will be held to them either way.

So...here we go. :)

~~~~~~BASIC RULES~~~~~~

1. To be a member of this board, you must be 18 years of age or older. You will be required to give us your birthdate when you apply (it will not be public). If we find out that you have lied on your application about your birthdate, you will be automatically banned.

2. No God-modding. It is not acceptable to speak for, think for, move, injure, kill, or in any way act for another character, without that character's express permission. Something that may seem inconsequential to you could completely destroy something that the character's player might be planning for them. So just don't do it.

3. As this is an adult forum, it is alright for there to be sexual or violent content. However, we ask that you clearly mark threads with sexual content as such, for the benefit of those who do not wish to read them.

4. On the topic of marking threads - when your application is accepted, you will be given a tag for your character. PLEASE use this tag on ALL threads (except in the OOC forum). It will make it a great deal easier to do activity checks.

5. Don't take things that happen in RP personally. This is like acting, and you need to be able to separate yourself from your character. In my fourteen years of RP, I have killed my best friend and played characters who were madly in love with people I couldn't stand. Please be sure you separate in-character (IC) and out-of-character (OOC).

6. Don't bring the personal into the RP. This is the opposite of rule #5. If you have a problem with another player, whatever it may be, DO NOT BRING IT INTO THE RP. Not only is it very likely OOC to be doing so, it can also be hurtful and hateful. If you have your character "call out" another player's character based on personal issues, you will immediately be banned. No warning will be given on this. Don't do it.

7. Respect your fellow players. It is absolutely required that all members of this board treat their fellow players with respect. Some players may not be as experienced as others, some may not write as well as others, some may not even speak English as a first language. There will be no disrespect aimed at any member of board. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

8. Please try to write using proper grammar and complete sentences. Everything should be written in third-person limited voice.

9. We very much support a democratic form of Role Play. Major rule changes will not be made without the advice and consent of the members. We realize that consensus is not always possible, but this is what we will try for, and we will not make a change that the majority disagrees with. This said, the final decision lays with the mods.

10. Only Admins Are Allowed To Bitch-Slap. No Exceptions!!! Seriously, though. ;) Do not take matters of discipline into your own hands. If you have a problem with another player or their RP, PLEASE PM one of the mods, and we will take care of it from there.

~~~~~~ON CHARACTERS~~~~~~~~~

*Gods and Goddesses from any pantheon are welcome! These can be Gods from a particular fictional series (such as Percy Jackson), or simply gods from a particular pantheon.

*Demigods (fictional or mythological) are also welcome. We'd love to have a Percy Jackson, or an Achilles.

*Magical creatures (Satyrs, Nymphs, Centaurs, fairies, spirits, etc.) are also welcome.

*Original Characters (OC's) are not permitted as your first character. They may be accepted on a case-by-case basis after your first month in play. We expect applications for original characters to be far more detailed, and to prove to us that this character will not be a Sue/Stu. Convince us!

*Regular human characters are not currently permitted.

*There is no limit as to how many characters you are permitted to play. However, if we see your activity start to suffer a great deal, or if there are characters that are being neglected, we may ask you to consider whether or not this is a good time to take on another character.

*You are allowed more than one character from the same Pantheon/Fandom. But remember, this is Role Play, not Fan Fiction, and it won't be nearly as much fun if all you do is interact with yourself.

~~~~~~~ACTIVITY CHECKS~~~~~~~~

*There will be an activity check on the 1st (first) of every month. Every character must participate in at LEAST two threads (net or logs) in order to pass. Characters that do not pass will be removed. This does not include players that are on official hiatus.
