It wasn't that Connor hadn't seen Luther get into a funk before, he had. Normally it was just a case of giving him time and talking at him until he got over whatever was bugging him but this time it was different. Because Connor couldn't help but note the correlation between Nikki leaving and Luther getting into a mood, which was dangerous territory as far as he was concerned. Simply because girls messed things up. Especially girls from your past, girls who got you into trouble the first go around and girls who had admittedly nice legs and weren't exactly awful to look at it. So Connor's spidey senses were definitely tingling, and he was far from impressed with the situation. He'd resorted to eating junk food, catching up on Grey's and scowling but apparently Luther wouldn't even let him do that in peace. Connor knew his partner's insane routine well enough by now to know that he should have been acting as a nice distraction to McDreamy's hair right now but instead he was lazing around in bed. Unacceptable.
Squinting, a piece of candy in his hand, Connor aimed and threw it at Luther's head. "You're not doing any push ups," he stated when it hit its intended target, the disapproval evident in his voice. He waited a moment and then gave up on watching the rest of the episode because obviously Luther's mental state was far more important than Meredith's latest family drama. Shuffling over in his socks, Connor sat down on the edge of Luther's bed and looked at him seriously. "You know she's bad news, right? You'd never be able to trust her." Because obviously something that happened when she was a teenager continues to have a bearing on her actions now. "And you can do so much better than her anyway. Plus, what about the baggage? She has a crippled brother and a weird kid to take care of." Which actually made him feel a little sorry for Nikki, now that he'd said it out loud. Though not sorry enough to take back his comments or change his opinion mind you.
