Bryte would firmly deny that his heart jumped at the knock, but that was just what happened. He quickly closed the journal and tucked it into a desk drawer, rising to meet his guest. "Come in," he called, brushing black hair away from his eyes. He slipped around the desk so he could meet Cassie half way, putting on his most polite smile, which he felt was somewhat lacking. Bryte never had been good at the warm, disarming smiles that his father and his priests flashed so easily.
"Thank you for coming, I'm Bryte Sinastra. I believe you knew my father." He felt the greeting to be awkward, or rushed, or something, but simply did not know how to make it better or more smooth. He hoped he did not come on too strong or scare her, but he simply found this too important to invite Andrei into the meeting. This was too precious to him, too close to his heart. "Please, come in, sit down. Would you like water?" He kept a few small bottles of water in a mini fridge under his desk for when he had visitors. Bryte was prone to rushing things, speaking right away, hacking immediately to the point, the heart of the matter, but he forced himself to wait. he did not need to come off too strong, no matter how much he wanted answers, and hoped to have them immediately.
