Who: Zeus and Heracles
What: Another meeting
When: Saturday morning
Where: A halfway house run by the Crusaders.
Warnings: Grumpy Zeus is grumpy.
Grumpy Zeus was grumpy. His skin itched and twitched with the need to get high but for once he didn't give in to the craving. Instead he sat in his room moping. Hera was gone having dumped him in this dump. Ok the place was actually kind of nice, certainly worlds above the street he'd been living on before. But it was a halfway house and they were making him take group counseling. Forget having to beg for money to feed his fix, forget the various debasements he'd endured for drugs. Having to sit in a circle and listen to the other chumps at the house then talk about himself was humiliating! He had been the KING OF THE GODS GODDAMMIT! It didn't help that this place was hell bent on saving his soul from Hell. As if the place existed. Well... maybe Tartarus but that wasn't Hell. He wondered if Hera also knew about the religious bend of the halfway house and if she would've stuck him here if she had known. If they had one thing in common it was a contempt of the Christian god at least.
There were times during some of those group sessions when he was almost vibrating with indignation at it all. This was part of Hera's revenge it had to be.
He'd also regained an appetite which was annoying. He'd almost forgotten how much a slave humans were to their stomachs. Speaking of which his own was growling. It was dinner time and some supposed big wig was joining them. He couldn't handle sitting, bored, through more prayers.
With a heavy put upon sigh, Zeus stood and walked out to the dining room. There were ten residents at the halfway house, two people to a room and a few volunteers, a nurse and three counselors at any given time to watch them and were available at any given time for help. That night six of the residents were there, four of them having been given permission to visit their families on weekend trips. A counselor was there too and a volunteer and... oh.... "Fuck me," Zeus groaned when he saw who the "guest" was that was coming to dinner. His own son, his former pride and joy, Heracles the betrayer. "What the hell are you doing here?"
