She rolled her eyes, although she was secretly pleased. Well, perhaps not secretly. Hera and Aphrodite had a strange relationship on Olympus. Not openly antagonistic, but not completely friendly. Occasionally cooperative, occasionally competitive. And yet the goddess of love had, in many ways, been a friend and supporter, even loaning Hera her belt once when she needed it, although for the life of her, Hera couldn’t remember why she’d needed it.
“Right then, first thing’s first. We need to get you cleaned up and fed. In that order.” She wrinkled her nose, a shiver tracing its way down her spine. For the first time since she’d moved here, she wished the campus wasn’t in quite so nice a neighborhood, because she didn’t really want to try and get him a hotel room with people looking down their noses at her and wondering what he’d steal from them. Gah. And no cab driver was going to want him in their cab. Bus it was. Carefully and without touching him, she started slowly walking to the bus stop. At least that would take them into an area of town that wouldn’t ask too many questions about renting out a room.
