The old Hera would have made a snide comment about the bastards always getting the dirty jobs, historically, but Hera had actually given up most of her anger at the children. After all, for the most part they hadn't asked to be born. For that matter, most of the women hadn't actively sought her husband's favors, either. Not all, but most. So she kept the bastard comment behind her teeth, and merely smiled.
Sitting back, she watched the interaction between her step-son and daughter, wondering at the smile on Hebe's face. Funny how Hebe seemed happier to see her brother than her mother, although not terribly surprising. Hera accepted that she'd been too bitter at their father to be a particularly good mother to her children. Just another irony in the lives of the gods.
