Charity work? Hebe's eyes flashed with surprise. Hera had never been afraid to get a little dirty to help a woman in her time of need to give birth but charity? Work? Professor of Molecular Genetics? Good thing Hebe had gone to Berkley otherwise her mother would've been her professor since she'd taken Molecular Genetics as an elective. "Oh, you know. This and that. Just finished my degree in biochemistry at Berkley and now I'm between... things," Hebe replied with a casual wave of her hand. "Sort of looking for something to do now."
She'd side stepped the question of what she'd been doing in the past few centuries because she wasn't certain how Hera would take the fact that Hebe had spent most of her time either at the bottom of a wine flask or on her back as a courtesan or a mistress.
Hebe's nervous fingers started tapping lightly on her knee. Why was her mother making her so nervous? It wasn't like Hera could do anything to her now and she was a grown woman anyway. She may be the daughter but that didn't give Hera any power or authority over her any longer. Hebe straightened out her fingers silently telling them to stop. "How've you been? Still with dad?"
