She finished her chapter, cheeks filling with blood (as they always did) for the culmination of the scene --but she was proud of herself for accomplishing it with Spunky McHornyPants standing not-so-far away. Her life had always been about control.. about sacrifice and dedication, and even in this situation she had DECIDED that he wasn't going to let it get the better of her. It would have been so easy to break apart, or get flustered from Aaron's treatment.. but she hadn't. She was a much harder nut to crack.
Elena shut the book and crossed one lithe leg over the other, tangling her fingers together in her lap with a movement that could've passed for a Queen's. "Why do you insist upon calling me Helen? Do you know a Helen who I look like?" She was trying to get to the crux of the matter, not understanding if he was teasing.. or if he actually thought that was her name. "And if you're so lonely and you honestly seek companionship, you should stop acting like an idiotic asshole."
She reached over and took a long swig of her coffee as she studied him further. Goodness he felt familiar.
