Makola couldn't hold back a small smile as the girl did a little dance in a circle. He couldn't imagine being frightened of something as small as a crab - they were just irritating. It was much safer sleeping on the sand here than it was at home.
"Not danger," he said, smiling and shrugging. "Only small... crabs, not biting. You try sleep where is lion. Elephant, rhino." He said the words with confidence, he had learned the words for his native animals early on, when they were some of the only words he could comprehend in this environment. "Sleep too much get step on."
