Of course, now that he had it - 'it' being a semi-serious relationship with the girl he'd attacked in a berserk state - they'd put in rules that made it somewhat less than satisfying. Eva had snuck over a few times and it'd been fun, but Liam was for once being sensible. They were apart enough, what with different classes, different friends and now this damn curfew. If Eva got caught and was given an Organisation babysitter and forbidden visitors, it would make things even worse. Still, it was annoying. And she would insist on continuing to rile him up - she was faux innocent about it but he knew she was doing it on purpose - when she knew it could be days before they had a chance to spend any real, private time together. So he suggested a web chat, because there was really only so much a man could take. He felt his heart beat a little quicker as he pressed the button to make the video call, straightening his own webcam and making triple sure the door was locked and the blinds closed. He'd turned off the main light, leaving the desk lamp the only illumination, as there was something about doing this in full brightness that was uncomfortable. What exactly they were going to do, he wasn't sure. He was sure Eva would come up with something. She was wickedly creative in that way. Since they had decided to be 'more than friends' a couple weeks ago, he hadn't pushed his luck in any way, letting her make all the first moves, and they hadn't yet been anywhere near as intimate as they had been before the 'incident', but he sensed that would take time, which was only right. She still seemed to want him though. Maybe tonight he'd find out just how much. The screen flickered for a moment and her face came into view. "Hey," he said, with an awkward little wave, keeping his voice down just in case. |
