Though a little more rustic than in years previous, the annual faculty and staff holiday party was always a big deal. A night where the lines between the levels of staff were blurred and no children were allowed meant that they could all finally relax a little, let their hair down, so to speak, and have a little fun. The lodge staff provided a three course meal and finger buffet, the bar was fully stocked, and holiday music--a combination of Christmas and other traditional religious and cultural songs--heard lightly in the background. A space was cleared at the far end of the room, next to the speakers, to allow for dancing. There were also a few sprigs of mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, so oblivious passersby beware. |
