Ben wasn't sure if he heard the voice first or sensed the speeding object coming at him, but he managed to turn and grab the thing out of the air just in time. If his reflexes were any slower he might have copped a blow to the chest. Panting, he stared over at the man who had popped out of nowhere, then down at the thing he had caught. An orange. He realised belatedly that there had been a lot more oranges around lately. "Er. Thanks?" he said, wondering if the fruit was a gift, or a test, or both. "I mean, er. Gracias." He winced; he knew his accent was terrible despite all Bones' and Mr Valdez's best efforts.
