Who: Zeus, Hephaestus, Alana, Hades, Apollo, and possibly Hera. And maybe others. Who knows?
What: Hephaestus saves Zeus, much to his chagrin, and calls the family in.
Where: Zeus' office
When: Sunday night
Warnings: Craziness. Also, this is a thread scene. Post order is Hephaestus, Zeus, Alana, Apollo, Hades. Hera may pop in at some point. Go!

Perfect. Hephaestus grinned wryly as his free thumb glided over the keys of his handset, sending texts with inhuman speed. His other hand deftly steered his Tesla through Sunday night traffic. Sunday drivers were aptly named. Suddenly, his grin turned into a chuckle. The theme from Speed Racer was playing, perhaps inappropriately, in his mind. The once king of the Olympians had been laid low by by a heart attack. Adventure waited just ahead!
Tires squealed and smoked as Hephaestus power slid into the curb in front of Zeus' hotel. He hurried pulled what looked like a plastic briefcase from his trunk. He strode in with a purpose. It would stave off any unwanted questions from unsure employees. The only one who might challenge him was Alana, and she was unfortunately absent. If she had been around, perhaps Hephaestus would not have had to play his hand, but those were the breaks.
He checked his phone with a frown. He did not appreciate whatever game Erato was playing with him. This was an urgent manner. The look on his face made those around him even more reticent to approach him. Hephaestus strode right up to and through Zeus' office door.
The scene was much as it had been when he had last seen it. Zeus was sprawled on the floor, unconscious and not visibly breathing. Hephaestus viewed the scene dispassionately. How low the mighty had fallen. While Hephaestus opened the plastic briefcase he brought with him, he noted that, at one time, this scene would have filled his heart with joy. Now, he wasn't sure what he felt, but he knew what he had to do.
He ripped open Zeus' shirt and took his vitals. Hephaestus was no doctor, but medical technology was a field he could not ignore. He had helped Jarvis with his artificial heart. He had attended the summer camp that perfected the newest generation of prosthetic arm. And he had developed the portable defibrillator that he had brought with him. As he expected, Zeus wasn't breathing and had no appreciable pulse. As Hephaestus affixed the pad, the irony of saving Zeus with electric jolts was not lost on him. Once again, I have brought you your lightning, my king!
Zeus' body jumped as the shock passed through him.
That body immediately sat up with a rasp gasp. A bit of ichor trickled down the side of his head, where he'd cracked it good and hard against the floor. Damn hardwood. He took a deep breath while his chest ached to function properly again. "[Oh gods. What...]"
"[An acute myocardial infarction, but that's just a guess. I'm no doctor.]" Hephaestus eyed Zeus. He knew mortals that suffered from these were weakened immediately after and still in danger. "[Lie back. You are not well and need rest. Also, I have to treat your wound before Alana arrives and another unfortunate accident unfolds.]" If Alana was hurt by this, it would be a tragedy. Hephaestus readied a tube of superglue he kept for such accidents.
That voice. Zeus looked toward it, even as he actually obeyed the request to lay back. "[Hephaestus?]" he murmured. What in Hades was he doing here?
"[That is my name. One of many I have had.]" Hephaestus wasn't here for conversation. At the same time, talking would keep Zeus from lapsing into shock. Hephaestus sighed as he glued Zeus' wound shut and made sure no ichor had spilled onto the floor. There was some there, so Hephaestus wiped it up with a rag and then incinerated it in his hand. There was no dodging it, Hephaestus would have to say something.
"[It seems I arrived just in time. Lucky you.]" Zeus did have that kind of luck, but luck was not to blame for Hephaestus' timely appearance.
"[What happened?]" Zeus demanded, the glint returning to his eyes. "[Wait... I remember. I felt a pain, then I fell. I must have... but how did you know?]"
That was the $64,000 question. Hephaestus thought about the lies he could spin, but he discarded them. He had not the patience for lies these days. He was a man of action; lies did not suit him.
"[Your summary of events is quite eloquent.]" Hephaestus grinned a bit, before settling in for the truth. "[And I knew because I have sophisticated spying equipment housed within the] iPod kitty [from Makchang. You should have expected nothing less.]" And truly, he shouldn't, but underestimation was something that plagued Hephaestus throughout his long life.
Zeus blinked up at his son. "[You've been spying on me.]" He sighed and closed his eyes, massaging his fingers roughly over the spot in his chest where his heart resided. Stupid old thing. "[Yes, you're right. Though I suppose it has come as a blessing...]" A realization jolted him. "[Does your mother know?]"
Hephaestus did laugh, then. "[Of course not. I have no means of contacting her.]" Hephaestus laughed for a full minute before pausing to catch his breath. "[In truth, that idea never occurred to me. I contacted people who might be useful at this time.]" What would his mother do? There were no bastards to smite here.
But she was still Zeus' wife. And he didn't want her to worry. Really! "[She should know,]" he said slightly breathlessly, and pointed to a cell phone on the front desk. "[Let her know, please. She's on speed dial.]"
"[Letting her know will only cause her to worry, or worse, actually come here and interfere.]" Hephaestus didn't need his mother here. This situation was already bad enough for him.
Le sigh. "[And if she is not told, she will be angry at us both for not saying anything,]" he retorted, but was too tired and sore to argue much. "[I had a heart attack, didn't I?]"
"[I do not fear my mother's wrath. There are no mountains in Miami.]" One benefit to the location, at least. Though Hephaestus was no longer a child to be hurled heedlessly, he did not believe in unnecessary risks. He sighed. "[However, if it will get to rest easier, I will contact her for you.]" It was true. No good deed did go unpunished. Hephaestus reached for Zeus' phone.
(OOC: Breaking the post order somewhat, but Alana goes first in the comments, then it procedes as normal.)
Summary: Zeus had a heart attack and Hephaestus saved him against his better judgment. All hell patiently waits its opportunity to break loose as others speed to the scene.
