Who: Sam and Aphrie
What: Plotting. PLOOOOOTTIIIIING.
Where: Beach
When: Um, Wednesday-ish?
Warnings: Flirtations
Aphrodite parked her car in the lot by the beach she had brought a picnic basket filled with some water, raw veggies, humus dip, and some salsa with baked tortilla. She had also made some pita chicken sandwiches with the works. She also carried a blanket for them to sit on while they talked, ate, and people watched.
She looked around for Sam, and when she finally spotted him a big smile busted onto her face, and she waved. He looked so good, well he or she it didn't matter her baby still looked so good in her eyes. "BABY!!!" she yelled as she walked as fast as the sand would allow her too.
Sam looked up and grinned when he saw her as well. Standing up from his beach towel and propped up umbrella, he waved her down. He was wearing a red speedo and nothing else. And it looked good! Once the goddess was within reach, he pounced, hugging her tight.
Cynthia smiled holding his son tight. "Let me look at you..." She pulled away a bit, and then brought him in again to hug him. "You look so hot!! I swear you must have to beat them off you." She winked.
Then she laughed, looking at the towel and umbrella. "I see you thought of some things to. Damn.... I forget an umbrella, but I did bring some food, and a blanket." She then just looked at him. "I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you."
She started to spread out her blanket next to his towel to make a even bigger area, and set her basket on one of the corners of the blanket nearest them. "Water?" She asked as she rummaged in it, pulling one out for herself.
Sam blushed, though he knew it was probably true. Hee. "The umbrella is a must. I always forget how the weather here is a murder compared to Paris. And yes, please," he asked as he sat beside her
Cynthia smiled, and pulled out a bottle of water for him, and handed it to him. She opened hers up and took a sip, she had put the water she had brought in the freezer so it was melted water with ice still in the middle. "So," she said as she took off her cover up dress to reveal a cute little striped bikini. "What have you been up to the past couple months?"
She got herself comfortable and as she listened to her son's reply, she also slid on a pair of sunglasses to protect her light green eyes. She idly people watched behind them, while also looking back at her son.
Sam shrugged, stretching out leisurely. He attracted attention as well; not nearly as much as his mother of course, but enough. "Not much. It has been a boring summer, Momma. And now, school again." Le sigh. He leaned against her. "You? Where'd you go?"
She put her arm around her son lovingly. "No where I wanted to go let me tell you. I was kidnapped, but I took care of them." She grinned. "Well, do you have a job love? Cause I am thinking of opening my own business. Would you like to work in it with me?" She smiled mysteriously as she knew when she told him what it was he would get a kick out of it.
The love god's eyes went wide. "You were WHAT?"
She sat up a bit, but not to far from him so he could still lounge on her. "Yeah, someone I guess was stalking me, and they plotted to take me. Well, he did... I won't get into it. I really don't like thinking about it. However, I suppose the incident has sort of changed your mum a bit." She shrugged.
"However... I would much rather talk about my new business venture!!" She perked up again. "Don't you want to know what it is?" She asked as she took another sip of her water, and brought out some cut veggies of carrots, celery, broccoli, and bell peppers, and the hummus to dip in it.
He stared for a few more seconds, clearly worried. How could she talk so calmly about such a thing... But if she wanted to drop it, he would. "Um, yes?"
She really wasn't calm about it at all, but she wasn't making a big deal about it even with Ares. However, Ares, after hearing as much as he did made it sound like he was going to go after him, and while she had protested a bit she wouldn't mind some revenge from the War God on the man.
She perked up when he said yes. However she didn't miss the slight worry on his face, and leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "You're so sweet to care. Really, its fine, its over with, and I am back with those I love. What more can I ask for? Anyway, I am thinking of opening another Lingerie shop. What do you think? Are you in?"
Sam's eyes went wide again, but not from worry this time, but fascination. "Really? That sounds great!" he replied excitedly. "I mean, can I work there? Design, maybe?"
"Of course." She was even more excited now that her son was also involved in it. This shop would be even better then her old one because it would be a mother/son project. "I was so hoping you would be interested. I think it would be so fun to have a shop together. Your uncle D also said if we needed backing he would help us." She grinned happily as she took a celery stalk and dipped it in the hummus. She munched at it as she looked out at the men playing volley ball a little ways away from them.
She lightly hit him, and nodded her head toward the more then buff looking handsome men. She wasn't sure what he was attracted to at the moment of if he was still one who didn't care and just like beauty of any sex as she did. "Nice, eh?" She licked her lips idly.
Her licking made Sam shiver. Even her son could feel the sexuality rolling off of her in waves. But he had a surprising amount of self-restraint. "D is great like that," he said, reaching for some strawberries. Aww, no chocolate to dip them in. "Yes! I love it. College is so expensive. And I love that sort of thing. But, you know that." He wriggled his eyebrows.
Aphrodite Playfully hit her head. "I know I forgot something. Ahh well, you'll forgive your absent minded mother." She grinned. She saw the reaction of her son to her, and wasn't sure how to feel about it. She decided to just ignore it, and smile at her son.
"Sweetie," She started, "If you need money I have plenty of it, you know that. I would love to help you with your schooling." She smiled proudly at him. "And of course you will get paid very well, and if I can swing to have employee medical I will get you medical plan too." She cocked her head watching her son eat the strawberry. She could help it no matter how she tried to tone herself down, sensuality would always be a beautiful thing for her to watch. "What would you want to design? Men's wear, or female wear or both?" She asked finally looking away from his lips on the strawberry.
"Both, of course," replied the love god with a smirk. He had seeds along the outlines of his lips. "And we don't really need medical, do we? Are you going to hire anyone else?"
She giggled. "I suppose you're right. However, we could have some out on ourselves just to keep others from wondering." She winked. "Maybe a few not to design, but to be sales people, and maybe a manager so we could also do other things sometimes. You know all work and no play makes for two very depressed love God, and Goddess." She gently moved a finger towards his lips and wiped the seeds away, a smirk on her face.
"You should try the hummus, Its pretty good with veggies." She cocked her head and looked out a woman this time catching her attention. "Couldn't you see her in a beautiful negligee that made her chest go up and pop out at the top, hugging that little waist of hers with a flimsy net skirt, and g-string undies?" She asked idly, her mind already spinning about creations. She smiled and hugged him suddenly. "I am just so excited that you and I will be designing together, I bet we could come up with some very unique creations together." She was starting to come alive some now. A project bringing up her low spirits she had been having.
"Hummus? Mm, I shall. I don't remember you cooking way back when, Mom. Is this a new hobby?" His eyes followed her, smiling. Deciding to wave, she smiled back shyly and waved back. Yes, he could imagine her in lingerie. Without it, too!
Aphrodite giggled again. "The only thing I did in this basket is chop up vegetables, and made the pita chicken sandwiches. And both those are fool proof." She winked at him playfully. "The rest salsa, baked tortilla chips, and hummus are store bought." She noticed as the shy girl looked at her son, and noticed that after he had looked away she looked at him again. She was proud that her son got looks from both male and females.
She cocked her head at him. "So Sam... Have anyone you love in your life lately?" She wasn't being nosy just wondering as all mums do about their offspring.
Sam's playful face fell a bit. "Um. No," he admitted, a little embarrassed. He was used to his failure in relationships. But admitting it to Mommy was never something to be proud of.
She looked at him with sensitive loving eyes, and her hand reached out to pet his face. "Why does your face fall? You know I don't care if you do or don't. I was just asking from mere curiosity." Her hand rubbed his face and moved to play in his hair for a while. "I am proud of you always, for just who you are. Never think you have to be a certain way for me, okay love?" She removed her hand from him, and went to take another sip of her water. "Do you want to play in the water for a while? I am getting slightly hot."
Sam blushed deeply. How could he ask for a better mother... to love a monster like him? "I know, [mother]," he murmured. "I just wish I were a little better of a son, worth of that pride."
"Oh, my baby, what have I ever done to make you feel such a way? You are the best son. Any mother would be proud of you. You make too much out of your extra parts. If someone does not find them sexy then you just wait for the one who will." She smiled a mother smile of love and acceptance of him. She grabbed his hand pulling him up. "Come on you silly man child, lets play in the water."
She tugged lightly on him, but then ran after her initial tugging, hoping he would follow. She jumped in the surf as it came in, splashing herself, and hoping he would join her for some play. Aphrodite hated when her son got down on himself, she knew that somewhere out there there was someone that would love him for him, male or female. She just had to believe that, as she just couldn't bare her son not feeling total acceptance from another, as she had with her Ares.
Maybe. Someday. Shaking his head free of those sad, sad thoughts, he nodded and stood. Yes, yes, let their adoring public watch them frolick!
(11:04:09 PM) thetammers68: When she finally saw Sam coming she smiled, and when he approached she kicked a spray of water at him, and then when a wave came back in tried to tack him down in the water, getting completely soaked. Her shiny blond hair shining in the sunlight, damp and hanging. She came back up realizing she had probably got more wet then her son.
She splashed and bobbed in the little depth that she had got in as waves came and she floated over them. She laughed, hugging onto him a bit. Then whispered into his ear. "Love, you know I will always love you. You are one of my children, and I love all of you just the same."
Now his whole face was red, but he was smiling happily. Mommy was here, it'd all be okay. He returned the hug as tightly as he could -- not very tight, though, he was a lover not a fighter -- and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Love you, mom. Thank you."
"There!! Thats the look I like to see." She smiled back, and started back. The looks they both got with there skins glistening in the son, Aphrodite holding her sons hand, proudly briefly as they exited, and returned to their towels. She twisted her hair up and placed a stick in it from her purse when they got back to their site.
"Would you like a chicken pita sandwich now?" She asked as she rummaged again into the basket, and brought out to rather chunky pita sandwiches out. She was on a health kick at the moment. "So what do you think we should call our new venture?" She asked as she unwrapped hers, and laid down the other one on the blanket near him so if he wanted it he could get it. She took a sip of water, before taking a bit of her sandwich. Hrmmm.. these sandwiches were filled fuller then she thought as she pulled out napkins for both of them and wiped her mouth.
"Hm." Pausing to shake his hair dry a bit, he sat back down beside her. Mmm, all wet, it was considerably cooler outside! "I don't know. I'm never good with names. We should ask a muse."
"Good idea!! I met Thalia recently." Then she frowned, her own demons coming to haunt her once again. She hated that most of her female family member, and some of the males thought she was mud. She wasn't sure if she wanted to mend fences with everyone, as some feelings felt on both sides were to strong. However, some she would like to maybe try to be friends with. She wasn't sure if she was on the outs with any of the muses, when you lived as long as they did, and you did so many things good and bad in your past it was hard to remember who was mad at you and who wasn't.
"Maybe you should talk to them?" She offered. "It might come out better from you, as everyone loves you." She smiled sweetly at him. Watching him again. How could one not find him appealing? Was it just him and how he felt about his self image, or were people that cruel to his son? And if that were the case, well he wondered if they liked the wrath of the War God on them.
"IT doesn't matter, as we have tons of time. I haven't even got a building or anything. I first wanted to talk to the one person, besides Ares that means the most to me, and see if they wouldn't join me in the project." It seemed that Aphrodite had another project, and that was to bring up her son's self esteem, there was no reason why he didn't have a line at his doorway and a date for every day of the week for the next two years.
Sam nodded. "There are others. Um, Melpomene, Polyhymnia... Erato, I think... I can't remember the rest. Oh, and Apollo, him, too," he added with a nod.
Yes Apollo, that reminded her, she had to figure out how D wanted her to help him with Apollo to bring up his spirits. "Have you seen Apollo lately?" she asked, as she took another bite of sandwich. "I heard he was not doing so well." She decided to keep who, why, and what was going on between the two men to herself. She wasn't sure if D wanted it to be public knowledge, and respected her old lover's privacy and trust in being open with her enough to keep it to herself.
"Apollo? No, not recently. From what I hear, he's become something of a hermit, even from his muses." Sam shivered at the idea. He knew how close the girls were to them... it'd be like if Aphrodite and Eros and all the rest came back into his life, then told him to go away. The thought made him want to cry.
She nodded her head at him. She would talk more to D about it when she decided to call him, about extra backing for their shop. She wanted it to be over the top, and for them to have as much money between her and D, and Ares if he decided to invest some money into it for them to design whatever designs they wanted with whatever materials they wanted no matter how expensive. "That just makes me want to cry for him. I must figure out a way to help him, without upsetting him more." she sighed.
She laid her head on her sons shoulder, after placing the rest of her sandwich away. "Sam? Does it bother you that your mum has a shady past, and more then her share of family that does not like her?" For the first time in her life she thought briefly on whether she might be an embarrassment to her own children, and she shuddered. She really did need to stop with this self doubt that she seemed to fall into lately. She knew it was partly due to the trauma she still felt from a couple months ago but she refused to really look at it.
Soon she would have to leave, let her son bask in the son, in all his beauty without the other women beside him. Or his mother that is. She would watch from afar. She just knew that the minute she vacated some beautiful young thing would come to replace her. She would be with him just a little longer though. A mother had a right to hang with his son for a while, didn't she?
Sam blinked, and looked to the clouds overhead as he thought. "No," he said after that moment. "We all have made horrible decisions. Or have had horrible things happen to us. We don't all like each other, but we are all family, tied together through our blood." He shrugged. "Besides. I love you."
She smiled at him, and moved her face that little bit toward his face to kiss him lightly. "There is no better love then a son's love to their mother, and vise versa." She mumbled softly her lips still against his flesh a bit. "Thank you for having as much faith and love in me as I do you. Your old mother should take off so you can at least have some young beauty come and be with you besides me. I know that you love me, but I also know you are still young." She winked at him. "I will leave you the basket. Gives me a reason to come see you soon to get it back." She stood slowly. "Hun... I am really happy you are going to be working with me." She leaned down again and kissed him on the lips, maybe a bit unorthodox to do as his mother, but she just for some reason wanted to taste his lips on hers, maybe to seal the love that she had with him. She smiled then, picked up her blanket, and moved the basket onto his towel. She only took with her, her sandwich, and her water.
"The basket has extra sandwiches, in case you reel someone in, and more water." She stood a bit longer her blanket under her arm for him to respond before she fully left.
He returned the kiss. What was a kiss between two love gods? And it wasn't exactly unknown among their sort. "Going so soon, mama?" he asked once she had stood, pouting lightly.
She poked at his pout with her finger lightly, and said, "If you pout like that some more I might have to kiss you again." She winked playfully. "I don't have to, but I don't want to be the only beauty hugging the spot next to you. Some other beautiful thing much younger then what I appear to look like must have a chance. As if I had my way I would probably jealously keep them away with a mother's love never thinking any of them worthy of her son. And you don't want me to become that do you?" She giggled, as really he knew better then any that she would never hold back love from anyone. Well... Maybe she had a few times, but in her memory they had all deserved for whatever they had done.
Sam giggled back and shook his head. What an eager little son. Daughter. Songhter? Dauson? Eh. "Okay. Be safe, call me later?"
"Of course dear. Love you." She stood back up after her hand caressed his cheek. "My beautiful, handsome son," She muttered as she backed away, and then blew him a kiss. She went to her car her heart light, and her mind happy with the thought of all the things she needed to do to get the shop up and running.
Summary: Mother and son get together to discuss a plan for a shop. A sexy shop, that is, but what else would this pair do? Sam learns about his mother's troubles but doesn't try to coax her out of the shell she's put up, and instead tries to keep her happy.
