There are some things the surface world was glad it never saw. Rarely did both king and queen march off side by side to go to war, but the few times they had…It was sudden, swift and brutal. Neither was merciful about their precious peace together being disturbed. But more frightening, they marched as one being. In their terrible, fuming silence, it was next to impossible to tell who lead who. No words were spoken. The royals had no use for them when they fell into step. They had their own language of subtle movements and knowing the other’s hearts and thoughts -- created after a thousand years at each other’s side desperate to ensure the happiness of the other.
All that could be seen by mortal eyes now was the Iron Queen, her eyes flickering with a rage that clearly spoke both of her parentage and of who shared her bed. Unseen was the rest of the retinue that surrounded her. The ghosts had been divided into three flanks of eight and two of them were launched into the building, phasing through the walls, sent to find those who were stolen from them and cause any other trouble they could. Wrecking computers, disturbing power boxes… They held a bit of her power just in order to be able to do so. The united force of the royals wished for these enemies to know terror and chaos would be their herald. The last flank that remained surrounded her as her guard and eyes in all directions. But one more being remained unseen… The Unseen One himself.
They counted to twenty in silence before some of the lights in the building began to flicker and go dark. A ghost must have found a breaker box, but the darkness did not last long. In a moment a dim light could be seen. Even though one was invisible they traded glances… Back up generator. Oh well.
Maybe that would be found, too, but no matter. The dimness and lack of full power was a good start.
In unison they kicked open the door, guns ready.
Now was the time for action and battle.
The lord of Tartarus and his Bringer of Destruction demanded vengeance.
