Who: Persephone and Hypnos What: Sleep therapy Where: The Lot House When: Today, 10 am Warnings: None
Persephone yawned loudly, padding down the stairs in her nightgown even though it was already ten o'clock. She had the day off from reality television, and she would've loved to sleep in. Her body had other plans. She hadn't felt well rested in days.
Down in the living room, a man sat on her couch. Well... not really sitting on it. He had his feet up over the back of it, so his head hung over the edge near the coffee table. His hair was tousled as though he'd just gotten out of bed, eyes closed in perfect bliss as he felt the blood rush to his head and slightly dampen some of his higher brain functions. Yessssss...
As Dahlia rounded the corner at the foot of the stairs, she jumped, startled by the non-ghostly entity on her couch. "Oh. [Goodness. Hypnos. Don't do that...]"
Hmmmmm~? Hypnos looked up, his usually near-albino white face colored deep red by his activity. "Good afternoon, m'lady," he said, words slow and slightly slurred. That was odd. He'd only been doing this for about... an hour? He couldn't recall. "Sleep well?"
"Slept fine, thank you..." she yawned again, padding her way towards the kitchen. "Would you like some coffee?"
Hypnos winced and shook his head as he sat up. "No thank you, ma'am. I live with that enough." Pausing, he added, "Warm milk would be nice, though."
"Alright," she replied, taking the milk from the fridge. She poured some into a mug and placed in the microwave to warm. Hades, saint that he was, had left the coffee on from when he'd left for the day, and she took the old coffee and drank a mug happily.
Giving a silent cheer, Hypnos waddled sleepily towards the kitchen, sitting down into the first chair he located. "I'm glad you slept well. If you need me again, you know where to find me. Yes?"
"Mmm...hmmm?" Persephone nodded, a little confused as she drank her coffee. She yawned again, retrieving his milk from the microwave. "Careful."
He nodded. Still, when he sipped at it, he still hissed when the hot liquid touched his tongue. "[Ow, ow, it's hot.]" Durr.
"[I told you.]" She chided, blowing lightly on the cup. This was soon interrupted however by a long yawn.
"[Yes'm,]" replied a slightly pouty Hypnos, like he'd been chided by his mother. Though, she had probably been more matriarchal to him than his own mother ever had... "[Don't do that, you'll make me--]" Whoops, too late. He put down the mug before he dropped it, his whole body working into the great big yawn that followed.
And that had Dahlia yawning again. Gods, she needed to get more sleep. "What brings you here?"
"You." He went back to his milk and sipped it gingerly. "Lord Hades said that you were having difficulty sleeping."
"He shouldn't have mentioned it...my sleep has just been a little off lately," Persephone shrugged, sipping her coffee. "I blame daylight savings time."
The sleep god chuckled. "He says you have a hectic career. You needed the rest." And when Hypnos said you had to sleep, you had to sleep. End of story.
"Pish," Dahlia replied, waving her hand in the air. "Never you mind. You just finish your milk and enjoy the day."
He smiled and bowed his head to her lightly. "Whatever you desire, my Queen."
"....are you really going to listen or are you just humoring me?" she asked, cocking an eyebrow. Who knew what Hades had put him up to?
Hypnos blinked, titling his head curiously. "Why would I ignore you?" She was his queen! He'd be an idiot not to do so. The only commands higher than hers were those from Hades or Zeus himself.
"Well, Hades sent you to put me to sleep didn't he?" she frowned slightly.
The god nodded.
"Well it would sort of negate anything that I said, I would figure..." she shrugged, placing her mug in the sink.
"He sent me to help you sleep today. He didn't say anything about tomorrow, I think."
"So you're...not going to conk me out now?"
He paused and then yelped, "Sorry!' From the air, his wand appeared. It looked similar to the one Hermes bore, because they had the same purpose. Reaching over, he tapped it on her head. She was out like a light.
