Val, to her merit, listened patiently. She kept her mouth shut tight until Hephaestus had finished what he had to say. When he was done, she took a deep breath. "I know what you think of the family most of the time...but you are committing the same acts of blind hubris as them if you think that you can control a Titan."
She leaned back in her hair, looking away from him. "Now that I understand the entirety of the situation, perhaps he is better off at Ridgekeep. Or perhaps he is not. Violence is inherent to their culture. That is what they live and breathe, eat and drink. What you are doing is giving a bad dog the tools to strike back instead of rehabilitating him."
She turned her eyes back to him. "I know it may be my emotions sensationalizing the situation, but...I do not like walking blindly into a situation where my children could be harmed. Regardless of how you felt about your little pet project, that thoughtless behavior towards your family--especially those of us who are unlike Zeus and Herakles, who cannot defend ourselves against a Titan--shows a distinct lack of kindness."
