Who: Dionysus and Apollo
What: Snuggle time
Where: The house
When: Today, afternoon
Warnings: none
Dionysus sprawled along the couch, leg dangling over the arm as he watched some program about glass blowing on tv. He wondered if they shouldn't get a kiln. He and Apollo both liked art...both had disposable income and time. He glanced at the door, frowning impatiently. How long did it take to get pudding snacks and wine?
It took...awhile. Because it wasn't just pudding snacks and wine. It never was. There were all sorts of decisions to make; what kind of pudding, what brand was the best, what sort of wine did they really want, was it really a good idea to have wine and pudding at the same time? And then, of course, you always left the store with far more than you intended. You went in for pudding, and you came out with a dozen more items that seemed like a good idea at the time. An hour and a half, minimum.
When Apollo did finally get home, though, at least he left the wine and the pudding --and some plastic spoons-- on the coffee table in front of D before wandering into the kitchen.
"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssss," D grinned, reaching out for the pudding. He peeled one of the cups open, licking the deliciousness off of its lid. Then he shoved a spoonful of pudding into his mouth. "I wuff oo~"
Once he'd put all his impulse buys away, he returned to the living room with two wine glasses and a fresh pack of cigarettes, which were all placed on the table before he turned to ruffle D's hair. "Up! Come on~ I don't want to sit on you; you're uncomfortable."
D lifted his legs up. Like hell he wasn't gonna lie down. He grinned impishly, taking another mouthful of pudding. "There. Space."
Eyeroll. "Gee thanks, you're so kind." But he sat down in the provided space anyway, then leaned forward to mess with opening and pouring the wine.
D slid his feet under Apollo's arms, making himself comfortable. He glanced over at the bottle. "You're getting better at picking them."
"You think so?" He poured the two glasses, then held up the bottle to look at it. "I just go for the most artistic lable." GRIN~!
"Not a bad way to go," D shrugged, putting down the empty pudding cup and picking up the wine. "It's a symbol of someone who cares about their product."
He laughed a little and leaned back. "I was mostly joking, but whenever I'm lazy that's what I look for." Otherwise he asked people around him what they thought a wine snob would like, and made his decision that way.
Dionysus smiled, taking a slow sip of wine. He had been happy when Apollo went away--free--and he'd been glad to see that feeling continue when Apollo got home. There'd been no scene, none of the expected reprimand. "Gimme a kiss."
Snort. "You're too far away~" He stuck out his tongue at D and took another sip of wine.
While he'd been away, he'd rather expected D to throw some massive party, especially since he'd left him that note about not doing it. To be honest, he had been a little...put out by what was left of the mess when he'd gotten back, but had decided it really wasn't worth bitching about. After all, before D had moved in, he'd lived in far worse conditions. Getting away for awhile had...helped. A lot.
D sat up a bit, puckering his lips. He was closer now~
Apollo rolled his eyes, but leaned over to give him a kiss. "There. Better?" He patted his brother's cheek and sat back again. Sip~
"Yep," D grinned, leaning back with his drink. He snuggled into the couch cushions and sighed. "Do you think it's dumb of me to follow up with one of the girls I met at my party? She just seemed...open minded."
He leaned forward again, this time to get himself a cigarette. "Why would that be dumb? Isn't that what you usually do? Or is there some information about her that you're not telling me that would influence my opinion on the matter?" Ahh~ nicotine.
"I didn't mean in a 'sleep with her' kind of way...well, not exclusively." Dionysus replied, reaching a hand out for the cigarettes. "I mean, she might make a good priestess."
He offered D the pack, and then held out the lighter. "Oh. Well, you need to be more specific." He reached for the ashtray, awkwardly, and rested it on one of D's legs. "You could try it, I guess. I didn't meet her, so I couldn't really say."
D lit a cigarette, taking a thoughtful drag and exhaling. "She has a zest for life. I guess I could try and convince her. Tricky without outright revealing who I am."
"S'why I haven't bothered looking, I guess. Most people'll just stare at you like you're a nut; I get enough of that from you, I don't need to go out and instigate with the public." He blew out some smoke, and then grinned at D.
"We could get you a nice sexy priestess...or priest; I don't judge." Dionysus grinned, blowing lazy smoke rings.
"You think so?" He let his head rest against the back of the couch. "I always had priestesses...and you always stole them from me. You have to promise you won't this time~" Poke.
"I'm looking for one of my own," D put a hand in the air to show his innocence. "Won't touch yours."
"Never stopped you before~" Poke poke. "But I'll remember that you said that. Just in case." One could never be too careful, right? Especially with something so potentially vaulable.
"Consider me advised," D grinned, reaching out to run his fingers down Apollo's arm. "And consider me on the lookout for your new priestess."
"You think that'll work out?" He wasn't really sure how you went about getting priestesses these days. Way back when, it had been relatively easy, and sometimes they had even sought him out at his temples. Now, though, well...
Was there a test they could take or something?
"Only way to find out is to try...hell, if your sister can have one," D shrugged, shaking his head. Polyhymnia...I mean what kind of perks could she offer a priest other than nookie. They were much more awesome gods.
"You know, I was never really sure how that one worked out. I mean, he's related..." Even if he was a mortal, it just seemed...sort of odd, really. He certainly couldn't recall anything like that happening before. "Knows his place though; decent kid."
"You want a hot chick?" D asked, knowing full well he'd be bored of the further conversation about Adam.
Really, there was nothing else to say about Adam; he was pretty much summed up in those few sentences. "Someone attractive would be nice, but I don't suppose I can be too picky these days, can I?"
"Miami is full of attractive women," Dionysus grinned, putting the cigarette out on the tray in his lap. "We can see what turns up."
"Sometimes looks are all they've got." Snort. He grabbed the pack again, tapped out a fresh cigarette, and offered D the pack again. "Ah well, it's not like I'm going to try dating her." Hell no.
"Damn straight you aren't," D smiled, grabbing the ashtray and swinging his legs off of the couch. He smiled, kissing his boyfriend.
Smirk. He returned the kiss, and leaned against D. "Besides, no woman is going to settle for wine, sex, and pudding cups. I've got a great deal going on here." Hee.
"I'm the real deal, sexy," D laughed, holding Apollo close. It was going to be a good day in.
Summary: Dionysus and Apollo discuss the merits of getting priestesses over pudding and wine.
