Who: Artemis and Ares What: Clubbing. Where: Flavour and later the park When: Backdated to Saturday, Feb 2nd Warnings: Ares' intent, nothing graphic but his mind is on just one thing, sex.
Ares just finished a nice long and very hot shower, he loved taking one after a long physical day. Today he had ridden his favourite horse, Stymphalian. It had been a nice ride, the kind that made him forget where he was and what he had lost over the centuries. When he was riding Stymphalian he could imagine he was riding into battle at the head of a big army. After his ride he had worked on his newest car and ordered some mechanics around. Today hadn't been all play though, he had answered to some inquiries about the sale of horses and made appointments with the potential buyer. He also had sent a text message to the police tipping them on a fight between the Crips and the Nazi's planned for the next day. With great pleasure he had destroyed the disposable cellphone he had used for it.
After drying off he walked out of the bath room naked, he looked at himself in the mirror before pulling black leather pants and a tight fitting black shirt out of his huge wardrobe. He dressed in front of the mirror, when he was done he knew he looked stunning. He sat down to put on his socks and shoes, he hadn't decided where to go yet. He just knew that after a good day like today he needed to find a warm body to take to his bed, good preferably rough sex would be a nice way to end a great day.
Dressed to kill, he went downstairs grabbing his long leather coat on the way out. The drive to town he used to figure out where to go. He could go to the Opium Garden, always a nice place to go but in the end he decided to go to Flavour, 80s hard rock was nice and physical besides he was in the mood for a young lover today. After making sure his car was safely parked he strolled into the club as if he owned it, looking around to find a nice toy for the night.
This type of thing was completely against Artemis' nature, but she was so very bored. Athena had been elsewhere every night, and she had finally nailed her down to ask where she could go to hunt. Athena, in her sarcastic way, had told her of this place. She knew now that Athena had been seriously disturbed if she thought Artemis meant THIS kind of hunting. She had went home angry, but decided it would do her morale good to get hit on.
So she had returned in a tight black skirt, thin blue tank top, and thigh-high boots. She knew she had probably went a bit too far, but didn't care. It was nice to be stared at. Attention was definitely her friend. Sitting on the barstool, she felt the presence of the man who entered before she even saw him.
Ares openly looked at what the club had to offer and the girls did not mind his attention, they flirted with him and 'accidentally' rubbed up to him while he passed them. It was good to know that he was still desired, not that his ego really needed to get any bigger. Even thought this flirting was fun and the girls were pretty he hadn't found any one worthy of his attention yet. He liked the hunt as much as the actual reward at the end, a reward he was sure he would get, nobody would say no to him.
He moved toward the bar when he spotted her, yes, that girl would be his for tonight if the front was as good as her backside suggested. He casually walked over and glared at the man who wanted to sit next to 'his' date for the night, his glare sent the would-be suitor running. He took the barstool taking time to admire the front of this girl, it did not disappoint.
He ordered a Scottish Whiskey, he had developed a taste for it while spending time in Scotland during the Battle of Philiphaugh. "Can I order you a drink too." He offered with an almost friendly smile, if this girl was a careful observer she could see his real intentions in those dark eyes.
So, it would seem that he had set his sights on her. Far be it for her to deny the attentions of such a handsome and powerful-looking man. This man practically radiated power and strength. She couldn't help the shiver that shot up her spine as he addressed her.
"I would love one," she said, her accent a mixture between Greek, Irish, and German. "Whatever he's having," she said to the bartender. She turned her body slightly so she could face him, a smirk playing at her lips. From the way he stared at her, she knew he only wanted one thing - and boy would he be surprised when she spurned his attentions!
Ares watched her, noticing the smirk on her pretty face, he decided that this one would be fun to seduce. He, of course, was absolutely sure he would be successful because no woman (or man for that matter) was able to resist him. Yes, Ares was vain, he had always been vain and he would probably be vain the rest of his immortal life.
"My name is Ian." He said, introducing himself with his mortal name. "You sound European." He stated. Since his move to the US he had adopted a simple British accent but he could fake almost all accents he had gotten in contact with. The great thing of being immortal was that you had enough time to learn many languages and accents.
She smiled at his introduction and inclined her head. "I am from all over. Cadance," she said, extending her hand to him. Their drinks were set on the bar and she took hers up, downing it in one gulp. It wasn't nearly stout enough, but it would do.
"You sound British. Are you not from around here?" she asked, striking up conversation.
"I moved her about 18 months ago." Ares said smiling at the way Cadance had downed her whiskey. He could drink with the best of them, but he liked whiskey and something he liked he preferred to savour. "I bought a ranch outside of Miami."
He turned to face the pretty woman, "but I am sure you are much more interesting then me, Cadance." He motioned to the barkeeper to pour his 'date' another drink.
Her smile broadened at his mention of his ranch and then even more at the second round. "Thank you. But I assure you, I am not a very interesting person," she said, this time taking her time with the whiskey. She swirled the glass around, then took a sip of the not-as-stout-as-she-would-like drink.
"What compelled you to come to Miami?" she asked, quite curious about this man.
That was of course the million dollar question, why did Ares come to Miami? Well, he knew but he could hardly tell Cadance that the last time he came here in 1947 he had come to meet Al Capone and just missed him by a few weeks, meeting someone or visiting their grave wasn't really the same thing. Al had made him think of Florida when he wanted to 'play' with gangs.
"I could, of course, have picked any place to breed horses, but I like nice weather." He said, it was a reason to move somewhere, not a very good one but it was a reason. "When did you come to Florida?" He asked, shifting a little bit 'accidentally' rubbing his knee against hers.
She didn't mind the contact his knee made with hers. In fact, she moved ever so slightly so they could touch fully. She looked up from her glass demurely, batting her lashes with reserved innocence.
"It's been a couple of months for me. I have family here," she said, since she knew his next question would be why. It was true... her sister and father were here... along with her step-mother... she hated that. Who knew what other Olympians were here in Miami. Even her brother could be nearby. That was disturbing.
Innocence, Ares liked that in a woman, but this one did not fool him, she flirted to easily with him. He shifted even closer to her, not caring how close they were sitting and who might be looking definitely not caring if Cadance might be at the club with a date. He could handle any puny mortal, even mortals of the jealous boyfriend kind.
Family... he had probably more family then even he knew about, not to mention the number of children he had. He wasn't much of a family man though, except for Dite and his children he really didn't care if he ever saw any of them again. "Family can be nice." He smiled as he spoke thinking that the girl should be glad that she wasn't part of his insane family. "But family is not enough to satisfy a pretty girl like you." He put his hand on her knee with an innocent look of his own.
Her brow arched at his open touch, and she couldn't stop the smile that played at her lips. "You would be right, which is why I am here," she said, moving her hand around in a circle to indicate the bar. She hated the smell here, and longed for the woodsy smell of Germany... but this man was rather intriguing and she intended to learn a bit more about him.
"Speaking of, what brings you to such an establishment?" she asked, leaning in ever so slightly, her own hand resting on his knee.
"I am here looking for some nice company." Ares said with the smile of a gentleman but his thoughts were not gentle at all as he wondered how she would feel under him while having sex. "And I think you are very nice." He stroked the inside of her leg with his thumb, yes, she was very nice and would surely do for a one night stand.
"I would never have expected a lady like yourself to cross my path at a club like this, it must be my lucky day." Not the best of pick-up lines but with a body like his Ares didn't need good pick-up lines.
Okay... so that was going a bit too far. The small touches she didn't mind so much... but when his hand was on the inside of her leg... that was another story. She pulled away ever-so-slightly, her eyes flashing red momentarily. Wanting the social interaction, though, she took that hand in hers and smiled mischievously.
"What do you say we get out of here?" she asked, standing and finishing off her drink.
For a moment Ares thought that he saw Cadance's eyes flash red, but he mentally shook his head telling himself to not be silly. He did however notice the mischievous smile and took that as a good omen for the rest of the night. He smirked as he squeezed her hand in reply.
"Where did you want to go." He asked, not yet suggesting to go to his ranch, and with his ranch he meant the bedroom of his ranch of course. He stood too releasing her hand to pay for the drinks leaving a big tip for the barkeeper.
She watched him pay, glad he left a tip. That said a lot about a person, in her eyes. After he paid, she led the way from the bar and into the crisp night air. She shivered involuntarily, though she didn't feel the slightest chill. Maybe it was being alone with this man.
When he joined her, she turned to look up at him... though that was quite the feat, since she was an incredibly tall woman. "Where to stud?" she asked playfully.
Seeing Cadance shiver gave Ares the chance to show he was a gentleman, not that he really was but he knew that women liked the romantic stuff. He removed his long black leather coat and put it around her shoulders, chivalrous and a good way to get close to her again.
"Anywhere you want to go." He purred in her ear, "my car is over there." He motioned with one hand to the black BMW parked not far away.
Although she didn't need it, she knew she must keep up appearances and so smiled brightly at him. "Thank you," she said, before turning her attention to his car. It was a fine piece of machinery, but she was still leary about riding in a vehicle after her latest excursion with Zeus.
"Erm... can't we go for a walk?" she asked, taking a step backward.
Ares saw Cadance step backward as she looked at his car, not something he had seen girls do before but he was not going question her about it. He offered her his arm instead, hoping that this walk would end up somewhere more private. "Of course we can walk, my love." He could pretend to be a gentleman for a bit longer.
She placed her hand in the crook of his arm and walked beside him. "Thank you," she said, giggling a bit at her own nervousness. "Sorry to freak about your car." She winced at her use of the modern terminology. She was still getting used to it.
"Don't worry about it." Ares said almost kindly, "Walking is nice too." He pulled her closer to him, "but tell me when you are getting cold." Yes, he was getting better at this gentleman thing, he was sure he was convincing Cadance that he was one.
He started to lead her away from the club, "Is there any place in particular you want go too?" He asked hoping her answer would be her home.
She thought about that for a moment, her eyes looking toward the lit-up strip, then to a darkened park. Safe or fun? Hmm...
"That park seems inviting," she said, a bit sarcastically as she headed in that general direction. She didn't know what to talk about... it had been forever since she had interacted with a mortal. "So, uh, what do you do for a living?"
Ares looked at the park and laughed, "Inviting..." It was private though, so he was not going to complain. He walked with her toward the quiet and dark park. "I breed horses." He answered her question, "Big black Friesian horses, they are descendants of medieval war horses." A little bid of pride about their ancestry was clear in his voice. He was War and anything to do with war still brought a smile to his face.
She heard the pride and glanced up at him with a smile. "I take it you like what you do," she commented, shrugging out of his jacket as they arrived at the park. She handed it to him and walked briskly to the swings, sitting down in one and pumping her legs in one fluid motion.
"I do like what I do." This was probably one of the first times that night Ares shown a bit of his real self, he tried to blend in with the mortals but he hated it. Breeding horses was just a little way holding onto the past, like his fondness for racing cars, simply modernized what he had loved for ever.
He followed her with his coat over his arm, trying to peek up her skirt as she was swinging. "Now you know everything about me." He started, yes, another lie. "But I know nothing about you." He added a little pout at the end.
She laughed, the sound ringing playfully into the night. "I doubt I know everything about you, but I'll let that pass for now," she said, swinging herself higher. "I am an open book. What would you like to know?"
Okay, so it was a lie. There was a lot she wouldn't tell him. But he didn't have to know that.
Ares leaned against a near by tree, he had a very good view of Cadance as she swung higher, picturing her naked on that swing. "Of course you do, I am just a simple horse breeder out for the night." He hated to use the word 'just' when talking about himself, there was noting 'just' and 'simple' about him. He was a God, and not just a simple one, he was THE God of War. He took a deep breath chasing away those feelings, anger would not get this pretty lady into his bed.
"An open book? Really?" He knew nobody really was an open book but he was not there to get to know her mind, history and wishes for the future, he was there to get to know her body, preferably naked. "Why did you take me to this park?" He asked with a tiny grin.
Her swinging slowed and she bit her lip as she thought of a laudible response. "Honestly... I have no idea," she said, her eyes wide as she realized this fact. She knew she could take care of herself, and she loved the attention he offered... but why would she knowingly make them all alone.
She took a deep breath and sighed, then cursed in Greek. [By Zeus!] Realizing her mistake, she quickly covered her mouth and coughed.
Ares was about to reply to her 'I have no idea' when he clearly heard her curse. He pushed himself off the tree and was standing by Cadance in a flash. ["Who are you?"] His charm was gone. Family, he wasn't sure if they hated him as much as he hated most of them. He crossed his arms over his muscular chest glaring down on the girl... goddess... what ever. ["And don't lie."]
She glared up at him, finally coming to her feet to face him fully. He was taller than she, but that didn't intimidate her. ["Better question. Who are you?"] she retorted. Obviously... he was part of her rather large family. Just great. He would probably tell daddy all about her flirtatious attitude. Her hands on her hips, she glared him down.
A smirk formed on Ares' face as he saw how the 'girl' tried to glare him down. ["Someone who you should not glare at."] He looked at the way she stood with her hands on her hips and there was no doubt in his mind that this was one of his many sisters.
He looked down on her, noticing the nice cleavage, and said. ["I am Ares."] the pride in his voice was obvious, he didn't care what any of his relatives thought about him, he never cared before and he was not about to start now. ["Tell me who you are."] He demanded.
She rolled her eyes. Of course she would come in contact with one of the most arrogant gods. ["Artemis,"] she said with a sigh, moving to sit on the swing again. ["Just how in Hades did you end up here?"] Just her luck!
Ares hated his life at this moment more then he had before, living with mortals pretending to be one was bad enough without wasting half the night trying to seduce the Virgin Huntress. ["I took a plane."] He said not moving an inch, ["It is a mortal invention, you should try it some day."] No more mister nice-Ian, Ares no longer needed to pretend. ["So, sister dear, is flirting all you do or did you throw out the whole 'I am a virgin' act?"]
She couldn't help but smirk at his misplaced sarcasm. ["I'll have you know, Athena tricked me into going to that club. You know I can't resist seducing a poor mortal man, especially since I know he will never get anything out of the arrangement,"] she said, pouting innocently. She wondered briefly if daddy knew Ares was in town. No one had told her, so she doubted the others knew.
'Oh goody...' Ares thought starting to really hate his life, 'Athena is here too.' ["You were not seducing a poor mortal man."] He said trying to think of a way he could salvage at least a little bit of this evening, maybe she would want to go home and he could find a real mortal to 'scratch his itch'.
["Your pouting won't work on me, Artemis, safe it for daddy."] The tone of his voice when he said 'daddy' was mocking, hoping to hear that Zeus wasn't here, but the way his luck was going tonight he'd probably hear that his whole bloody family was living in Miami.
Her pout turned into a mischievous smirk. ["Don't worry. Daddy will see plenty of my pouting when I tell him just how rude you were to me,"] she said, teasing a bit. She hopped from the swing and strolled over to him, stopping just before his broad chest. ["Now, Ares, quit being so angry. You've always been too uptight for my liking."]
["Why?"] Ares said, he almost sounded like a spoiled little boy not getting what he wanted. Which was more or less true, except for the little boy part. ["I find out that Athena and Zeus are here and you want me to not be angry?"] He looked down at Artemis, thinking that daddy's little girl would probably not understand that some Gods weren't big on families. ["Not to mention me wasting my night trying to seduce my own sister."] Not that seducing a sister had bothered him before, it was just that this was his virgin sister.
She rolled her eyes. ["Are they ever a bane in your side, brother? Really, they can't be all that bad. Athena took me in and daddy bought us a store. I am sure he will be glad to see you,"] she said, batting her lashes at him playfully. She sometimes was too naive for her own good, but she knew, deep down, 'daddy' wouldn't be thrilled to see Ares. Athena... even less.
Ares laughed, not a fun happy laugh though. ["Even you can't be that naive, Artemis."] He knew that his family disliked him as much as he disliked them. ["Maybe, you and I should just pretend we never met."] He suggested, this wasn't the way he had hoped this evening would go and he would try very hard to forget all about it. ["You just bat those cute little lashes at daddy and tell him anything except that you met me."] He patted her cheek like he would a little child.
She stepped away from him, her playful look turning into a glare. ["Oh, you aren't getting off that easy. I can't very well go home and not tell Athena. She will see right through me,"] she said, having no intention of lying to anyone who meant anything to her. She never had a beef with Ares, but it was high time those who did let by-gones be by-gones. ["You should quit hiding and go see Zeus yourself."] It was a suggestion... not like he would take it.
["I am not hiding!"] Ares said trying to stop a pout from forming, when it came to his father he always fell like a young Godling again and he hated it. ["I have lived here openly running a business for about 18 months."] Why was he even standing here defending his actions to Artemis? He was a grown God, he was several millennia old, he didn't need to tell 'daddy' where he was all the time.
She rolled her eyes, huffing as she put her hands on her hips. "[Ares, seriously... if you weren't worried about what father would say, you wouldn't mind if I told him you are here,"] she pointed out. Why were her brothers all so frustrating?
Ares knew Artemis was sort of right but he was not going to admit to it. So, he tried one last time, ["How could I hide from someone I did not even know was around."] Why were all his sisters so bossy?
She snorted, then retorted with a question of her own. Pointing her finger in his face, she said, ["Why would you not try to find your father before?"]
["Probably for the same reason he didn't try to find me."] Ares said ready to bite her pointing finger. ["He must have been missing me."] He said sarcastically, he was sure Zeus had not thought about him since the fall of the Olympians. ["Heartbroken and all."]
She rolled her eyes, placing her hand back on her hip. ["You men are so complicated,"] she said, pacing back and forth. ["Why can't you just admit you missed your family... at least some of them..."]
Ares did miss some of his family, but Zeus was not on that list. Dite was and Eros... ["I might..."] He said wondering why he was admitting to this at all. ["But that does not mean I am going to visit my parents every week."] He might even miss Hera, a little, she was his mother. He crossed his arms over his chest again, he wanted to go find someone to fuck so hard that he could pretend all this had been a bad dream, something that had not happened.
She sighed, stopping before him once more. She did feel sorry for him sometimes, but now wasn't one of them. ["You know... Hera is here too,"] she said, at the mention of his parents. She couldn't stand the bitch, but she was sure Ares cared for her. At least a bit. ["I can tell Zeus I ran into you and I am sure he will relay the message to her."] Why she was volunteering to do this, she had no clue.
Ares stared at Artemis wondering why in the name of al things holy and unholy she was trying to mediate between people who didn't even asked for it. ["Why don't you just do what ever make you happy."] He said, yes, he was acting like a big child. ["I don't care one way or the other."] He said trying not only to convince her but also himself, if he hadn't cared he would have walked away the moment he knew who he was talking to. He would figured out why he hadn't walked away another time.
She smiled then, a bright and happy smile, and nodded her head once. ["What mortal name do you go by?"] she asked, taking in his appearance so she could remember exactly what to say to daddy.
Ares answered Artemis' happy smile with a glare, "Ian Carmichael." He said, he knew she wouldn't let this go so he better just let her do her thing. ["But don't expect daddy to jump for joy."] He wasn't happy about all this and he could not imagine Zeus would be.
She rolled her eyes again and brushed off his pessimism. ["Oh I am sure daddy will be thrilled,"] she said with no real conviction. Surely he wouldn't be too upset... after all, Ares was his son! ["Now come give your sister a kiss and I will gladly let you go pursue a female companion."]
Ares sighed and moved to his sister, he should just turn and leave her standing there but he didn't. He leaned in and kissed her chastely on her cheek, ["You are too kind, Artemis."] He said sarcastically.
She smirked and nodded her head. ["I know,"] she said with an exaggerated sigh, ["it is my blessing and curse. Now you run along and be good."]
Ares shook his head, even if he wanted to he couldn't stay mad at Artemis. He didn't have to like the fact that his family was here and he certainly was not going to do a happy dance any time soon knowing that Artemis will tell them she met him. ["I am always good."] He said when he turned to leave. ["Women!"] He muttered.
Summary: Ares is looking for sex and finds a sister, saying that he is not happy is an understatement.
