Alex wasn't about the tell the girl all of her baggage. There was a lot of it, and she wasn't big on sharing her feelings. She could give her a few truths, though.
"I work for the U.N. when I'm home," she explained. "I speak out for and help rescue people who have been sold into human trafficking. I'm always grateful to help them, but it can get pretty grim."
All of that was the truth. "So I come here to find other ways to be there for people that aren't so dark."
She liked getting a chance to help students learn to defend themselves.
"Every few weeks, I return to my other life, but I like I can come here, too."
