Sleep was a foreign concept to Emma as of late. Every single time she closed her eyes, she would see one of the events that had happened recently in her head. She was lucky if she got more than four hours of sleep, but at least she wasn’t waking up and grabbing the nearest thing for a weapon. Though Emma would probably have to look into buying herself a metal bat just in case as it would get the job done if anything from her past showed up here, but it would also make her feel safer. Rolling on her side, Emma was hoping for a little more sleep before having to get ready for class; however, that didn’t seem to be happening. She pulled her covers off before quietly changing into some sweats pants, a shirt, and a jacket before slipping on some sneakers. All the times she had to be quiet to sneak past her mom had paid off in that she knew how to move around quietly as to not wake her roommate.
Grabbing her cell, headphones, and keys, she slipped out of the room and went to the bathroom. The sun was just rising, which meant not many people should be up or at least she hoped. Slipping into the bathroom, she pulled her hair up into a ponytail before lifting her shirt up a bit to look at the cut across her stomach from what Piper did to her. Emma knew it would always be there, but it was only a few weeks old, which made it a little more noticeable causing her to hide it even more to avoid the questions. It wasn’t hurting like before, which was a great thing in her mind.
Pulling her shirt down, she left the bathroom and slipped out of the dorm. Hoping maybe a quick morning run in the cold would help her out a bit, clear her head, and keep her head on straight. Last thing she wanted to do was have her mom worry about her and it was the reason she was trying to deal with everything on her own. Plugging her earbuds into her phone, she only put one in her ear so she could hear if anything was to happen or anyone tried to sneak up on her. Going into her Spotify account, which she was happy still worked here, she picked her workout playlist before slipping her phone into her pocket and starting her jog on the campus grounds. Though finding that wasn’t exactly helping her stomach with the cut, she shifted to a quick walk, hoping it would have the same results with less pain for her.
