"Nothing's changed," Chris told her. Well, it had. Everything had changed. But his feelings for her remained steadfast. he wasn't in love with her, not by a long shot. He wasn't the type to fall head over heels in love from the start. But he certainly liked her a lot, and could see himself going that route in time.
"I like you, Elena. I like you a lot." He took a step closer, and watched her for subtle reactions, the sort of tics that were more telling than words or conscious action. "And I really want to see where this thing between us will go." So he knew now that she was a werewolf. That hadn't been an issue for his daughter, why should it be an issue for him?
For any number of reasons, actually. But those reasons were null and void now. He wasn't a hunter, despite his life long training. He had rejected his father, and everything Gerard Argent stood for, including the hunt. Allison and her unconditional love had taught him compassion, and had tempered the hunter in him. Werewolves were people too, and not all of them let the wolf take over. Elena definitely didn't seem to have an issue with that.
