Marlene and Thomas
Thomas had no idea what, really, to expect. He knew what a dance was, of course, but he had no practical experience, no basis of true understanding to prepare him for it. He was going with Marlene, though, so he figured he'd be all right.
He knew enough to offer his arm as they walked, and he felt kind of proud to have her at his side. She was beautiful, and she was a bit unconventional. Thomas liked her, even though he didn't always know what to think about her. She was nice, and she was beautiful. That was enough for him.
