Klaus really had no big announcement to tell Caroline. He wasn’t about to go telling people about Hope, absolutely not. He didn’t know if Hayley or Elijah or even Rebekah had said anything of the sort to anyone else, but he wasn’t going to spill it even to Caroline just in case. That was really the only big secret Klaus had locked up in his head at the moment, which was a relief indeed. Klaus could have dozens of secrets roaming about in his head at any given time, and that was just on a good day.
No, his real reasons for seeing Caroline were entirely different. Knocking on her door, he straightened out his collar and ran a hand through his hair like some college kid about to get laid for the first time. It was all for show really. Sometimes, Klaus liked to amuse himself into thinking he was inferior to what he really was. It helped to pass the time when bored. A thousand years certainly was a long time.
If Caroline could see his face right now, she would know full well what his intentions with her were. Or rather, his intentions with her body really. But as soon as the door opened, Klaus put on a wicked smile and his most charming foot forward. “Miss me, love?”
