Maria was still getting flashes of emotions around her, but she was fighting against them because she didn't want to upset or hurt Michael again. If she had known what he was thinking and feeling in that moment, she would have known exactly what to say to reassure him.
Max may have healed her injuries, but it was Michael that saved her and kept her from dying. He had been her anchor and her comfort -- much like he was now -- and it was because of him that she had survived that so that there was something for Max to heal.
When Michael held her close, Maria let out a soft breath and just leaned into him. She was worried about what was happening to her and what else might change, but right now Michael was keeping her anchored and keeping the panic at bay. They'd figure it out together, she had faith in that.
