Invasions
So the portion of this map I sloppily outlined in Paint shows the places that the Bugs invade today. They, obviously, aren't successful everywhere, but anyway yes this is where they are attacking while their little sphere things are disrupting the worlds electronics. You can assume the military and big organizations probably manage some communications but all higher tech is pretty much nonfunctional. The Bugs don't affect anyone's powers. The world's tech will be returned to normal tomorrow after a solution is devised for the Bugs' technology canceling-ness.
